I think feedback is valuable to any business, so I wanted to leave an honest review. The restaurant itself is lovely, the décor is stylish, and everything looked clean and well-kept. The service, however, felt a little underwhelming. It wasn’t that the staff weren’t trying, but the overall experience just didn’t flow as smoothly as expected, especially given it wasn’t particularly busy at the time. The food portions were generous, which was great, but I found the itself lacking in flavour. The patties seemed under-seasoned and didn’t have that rich, meaty depth you expect from a good burger. They also missed that nice char or Maillard reaction that gives a its distinctive flavour. At over £15 for a burger, plus £2.50 just to add onions, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite live up to the cost or the presentation of the place. Fabulous location, friendly staff and love the fact they do a dog burger. My sweet potato fries are fabulous as was the bun and condiments unfortunately the vegan was made to look and taste like a beef having been a vegetarian for 46 years made me feel quite ill. I also ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail which I was expecting to be around.£5 so it was quite shocked to see £9 on my bill for that. The prices here have been hyped quite a bit however if you’re a meat eater, I’m sure it must be great but if you’re vegetarian and vegan and don’t want to eat something that resembles meat if this is not a place for you. Such a shame as I would go back paying £6.50 for my sweet potato fries also felt a bit much. Apparently, they do have a mushroom too, but I would love to see something along the lines of the hairy bikers black bean there much better for vegetarian vegan option. Popped into this restaurant after a long hike up Pen y Fan and it did not disappoint🍔🥾⛰️❤️Menu had lots going on, they were currently hosting their Oktoberfest dishes. Great choice of drinks and nice atmosphere! was £17 which is a little on the steep side however the portions are big, so would definitely consider sharing sides if there are more than 2 of you. We love Hills!! We visited in 2020 and came back to Wales this week, food was even better than before and they even do Dog Patties which our puppy loved 😍 Such friendly staff, amazing food and fantastic views! We will be back. We booked The Hills for an evening meal after travelling an hour and a half for a night away It’s a destination with beautiful views and a restaurant atmosphere. The food was great, and could tell that the meat was fresh produce! There were an array of drink options which we loved, with local cider / spirit options available The only downside would be the wait for food being just under an hour, which a table being served just before us and the I wanted being unavailable as they didn’t have some ingredients to go with it Other than that, we had a evening with great service from the staff working We went to hills for the first time yesterday, it was a knock out location with stunning views across the valleys with evening sunshine. The menu had ample options for vegan / vegetarian/ gluten free people. 10/10 from us! Will definately re visit again next time we come to Brecon. Burgers at Hills are out of this world! We drove 1 hour just for the burgers, it helps with the scenic route to Brecon too. A restaurant, staff and excellent burgers. I recommend this to everyone I meet ❤️ Fantastic restaurant with some really unique burgers that are excellent quality (below pictures is the chips and gravy burger), the bar has some great local beers too! Nice ambience with an open kitchen and amazing views over the Brecon Beacons. The only reason this isn’t a 5* review is is that the burgers were a little pricey and did not include fries or a salad equivalent in the price so far one of the bigger burgers it’ll cost you £22-25 for a and fries.
