Prepare for variable weather and challenging terrain, but the incredible views and natural beauty are well worth the effort. Consider visiting during the off-season for fewer crowds. Absolutely one of the finest bits of in Wales lots of tracks and big places to go. A small cafe indoor and outdoor seating lots of picnic benches. A small playground that's get packed on sunny 🌞 hot days toilets by cafe free but don't get clean much was in an an absolutely disgusting when we used then better going in the woods to be honest. Very dog 🐕 friendly This is Wales at it's best! The first time I walked Pen Y Fan was when I moved to Wales in 2009, I fell in love with the most spectacular scenery I've ever seen. I loved it then and I love it now. On my first the weather was awful but it doesn't matter because you still get a very different experience of and the surrounding area whilst you're hiking, on the plus side when the weather is bad it's less crowded! Reaching the top always leaves me feeling exhilarated and nothing beats being in and amongst nature. The are incredible, not just from the top but all around. My second trip was just as beautiful, this place will always hold special memories, if you haven't walked Pen Y Fan yet, do it you'll love it 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Parking: Paid right next to the hiking trail, can get busy so alternative is available on the main road. Disabled is also available. Toilet: toilet facilities available on site. Stunning mountains to spend time in nature. They may not be high & Pen Y Fan may be very busy in the nice weather but the can be stunning & there are many other hills to visit Great day out fairly easy hike up and down nothing technical and well maintained paths. Visited the Waterfall Country near Neath in the southern part of the park. Miles and miles of dog friendly trails would take quite some time to explore them all! Stunning during the autumn season. Can't wait to go back! Be prepared for a fair bit of mud, rocky paths and slippery stones, however. So very much worth it. A photographer's and hiker's paradise. We had the most wonderful experience visiting Bannau Brycheiniog National Park in the evening. The was just over an hour and easy enough for the children to enjoy, with breathtaking all along the way. We were lucky to catch the sunset, which made the scenery even more magical. A real highlight was watching a local farmer and sheepdogs skilfully gathering the sheep — such a unique and memorable moment. Truly a beautiful place for families to explore and appreciate at its best. Lovely and scenery. Walked to Pen y Fan for sunrise so an early start. Very windy at the top. Facilities at the National Trust carpark, you have to pay for if you're not a member. Carpark is open 24/7 although there is no overnight parking. It is a lovely place for walking and camping. There are plenty of campsites and lots of paths to along. The scenery and are stunning. Beautiful and great walks. Would be nice staying overnight to look at the sky. A few people do that. Recommended.
