We visited the Three Horseshoes Inn for their Sunday lunch and had a truly wonderful experience. Nestled in the quiet village of Groesffordd, this charming pub offers a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and clearly enjoys the loyalty of its local community — which is always a good sign. We came specifically to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast, and we were not disappointed. We tried both the roast leg of lamb and the topside of beef — both were beautifully cooked, tender, and served with all the proper trimmings: crisp roast potatoes, vegetables, rich gravy, and of course a Yorkshire pudding. A proper, hearty meal. To start, we shared a few small plates: the salmon fishcake with jalapeño tartare was zesty and fresh, the pork, apple & black pudding croquette was a rich standout, and the roasted broccoli with satay sauce and cashew nuts surprised us with its depth of flavour and balance. Each dish felt thoughtful and well-seasoned. The setting itself is intimate and relaxed, with very friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Whether you’re looking for a classic British Sunday roast or just a pleasant lunch in a peaceful, down-to-earth environment, Three Horseshoes Inn is well worth a visit. Highly recommended! What a lovely hidden gem. A 10 min walk from the local campsite and a must if you are in the area. Recommend booking in advance as very popular. Great friendly service, lovely views of the mountains and the beach huts are cute and a great place to eat. Food was great, and good selection of wines. Highly recommend. The best meal and we’ve had in Wales over the week. What a saving grace after a series of bad and food. Would recommend the fish and chips or the pie of the day for your mains. The best mash I’ve had in my life, it reminds me of a really good meal on business class. You have to get the braised pork for the starter. Shame we missed the dessert because we were so full but I bet it would’ve been good. And how could I have forgotten the bread! So soft and fluffy served with what I believe is a whipped butter with marmite maybe? What a delight. Absolutely delicious Sunday Roast, probably one of the best I’ve ever had, very tasty indeed, puddings and cheese board also excellent, lovely scenery. We sat in a beach hut which was very nice. Would highly recommend and would definitely go again. What a gem in Wales! Lovely place, perfect and delicious food. One of the best meals we had in our life. Highly recommended place! Exceptional. Probably the best restaurant I've been to in Wales. The vibe is great, super chilled but v classy / not too loud. Great service, stunning presentation, good value, diverse and interesting menu. No sneaky charges. I'd be back every week if I lived closer. My wife and I stopped off for lunch and couldn't be happier. Best food we have had in Wales and dog friendly for the pup. We sat out in the front porch and had a great view aswell. 10/10 would come again if we ever come back to Wales! We went for a long weekend to Brecon Beacons and wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night. This was top on google and food looked amazing. We were not disappointed the pub is in the middle of houses tucked away a la carte menu everything was fantastic and the steaks were superb. When we return to Brecon we will visit again!
