They thanked me for taking them in, I'm certain it's the other way round! So happy to take them there and see they are in the best hands. Great people here They are very busy so may not answer the phones straight away, after you speak to them the best thing to do is drive there and take the animal yourself if you can (there is advice on their website about which animals you can take in). The centre is at the nature reserve so you have to go through a gate that can be opened). We were confused for a while and thought we couldn’t get through as the signs aren’t too clear. We have taken a young hedgehog there before who was about during the day and too small as weighed under 500 grams so wouldn’t survive the winter, they looked after it all winter and then they released it into the wild during the spring. We have also taken a young house Martin who was released a few days later after getting enough strength and we have taken 5 more young hedgehogs this season who are also being looked after by them so that they survive the winter. We took in a baby wood pigeon. They took it off our hands and promised to look after it. I took an injured pigeon there. They were very helpful and took it in for treatment. Today I found a pigeon which I thought had a broken wing, so I took it along to Oak & Furrow. From the moment I arrived & the first lady I met to then meeting the lovely lady on reception & the amazing team, I could tell how much love, care & dedication all the staff have for every animal they look after. The staff at Oak & Furrows are wonderful people who volunteer their time because they really care for every beautiful animal that is taken there. If you can please donate some money to this amazing place. I’ve taken several wild life casualties to Oak and Furrow. They are always professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I am confident the animals they take into their care get the best chance of survival. Friendly and compassionate staff. This Centre helped with an injured wild bird. The lady was really helpful on the phone but when I got there I asked a lot of questions but the person who dealt with me couldn’t answer any of them 😞. I did receive a follow up call to say the hedgehog was doing well and weather I wanted to have it returned back to my garden 🥰 We've taken a jackdaw and a pigeon here. They were so friendly, helpful and professional. I now donate monthly to support the amazing work they do.
