Recently went to Jennies Kitchen for a spot of lunch. My party of 4 had not been to Jennies Kitchen before, so were looking forward to seeing what was on offer. On arrival we noted some really COVID signage, making it clear there was a one way system and hand sanitiser in place. There was a reasonable selection on the menu, but most options were essentially Salad or Sandwiches - not the best for a cold wet day in October. I noticed there was a Lasagne on the special, so opted for that. My wife opted for a panini, my son the same and my mom went for Jacket Potato. We also ordered drinks, so was a bit disappointed when only half our drinks turned up, but it was no big deal as we were getting hungry. There was quite a wait for food, but we were happing chatting and with COVID, it's possible the kitchen was under staffed. When the food turned up, I was disappointed with mine, there was wan't a lot of Lasagne, but lots of salad. The Lasagne came with boiled potatoes, so was also surprised to get even more potato in my salad as well. The panini's were ok, not much Tuna in the filling, but again lots of salad. My mom's jacket potato definitely looked the best, and having tried some tasted the best. She went for Coronation Chicken, which again came with salad, but no where near as much as the other meals. I was also surprised that it also came with potato salad. From my perspective, the Lasagne was tasty, there just wasn't much of it - it was more like a child's portion in other establishments. We decided we needed afterwards as most of us were still hungry. The selection was good, all freshly baked. My Bakewell was excellent, but again slightly disappointed that I had to pay a £1 extra for cream, especially given it was already about £5 for a slice. My overall experience was ok, would I rush back - No. It was very clean, but I guess it has to be at the moment. It was expensive for what you got, so that definitely would put me off. Maybe the pricing is based on the huge New England style houses that have been built in the area, but for me, definitely too much for too little. This place was recommend to me by a friend and what a treasure it is. Customers excellent freshly cooked food and a seating inside and another area outside in the flowered garden. Price's very reasonable for such and food. Full breakfast menu until 12 o'clock. Just look for the pink signs off the spine road near holiday caravan park. Visited here for a cream tea. pot of tea. The scone was very nice, cooked to perfection. A generous amount of both cream and jam. Very friendly welcome when we arrived. The Saxon breakfasts were hot, well presented and of quality. The waffles and bacon were too. The coffees were well presented & cute! £35 for three breakfasts and 3 coffees seemed value to me. A beautiful setting with pretty garden to sit in if the weather is kind and dogs are welcome. Oh and the alpacas and rescue donkey are a delight! Wow, what a find. I ordered the lasagne and chips, hubby had the macaroni and french stick. It was really and arrived very quickly. I can’t fault the or food. We will be back to taste the cakes 🍰 🤩 Thank you, it was a real treat ❤️ Jennie’s Kitchen is incredible. I also ordered the coffee cake, and it was the best i’ve ever had, the was perfect and I could’ve eaten the icing with a spoon. All homemade. Definitely worth a visit, best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. I took my mum here for coffee and and we would certainly return. You could tell that this is a popular place to visit so id recommend booking in advance 😊. This place is a real find. Kids loved stroking the alpacas and the donkey before and after lunch. The café looks out onto a gorgeous garden absolutely teeming with birds, which we watched while we had lunch. The food was lovely, I had the vegetarian option, which was good. The cakes are amazing! Would definitely visit again if we were in the area. We were lucky to get a table though - pre-book if you can. place to visit, had a cream tea. Food and the team were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Had an absolutely time here and the staff were amazing and attentive. We loved our tea and cappuccino and the cafe was very warm and cozy, perfect for a quick refreshment before going for a walk around the nature reserve. We stopped by for breakfast sandwiches before a 4 hour trip home, delicious and filling sausage and egg butties all round! Really friendly staff and great quality food! We will be back next time we visit the beautiful Cotswolds!! Went here whilst we were on a weekend away in Hoburne holidays, atmosphere , brilliant customer and food, would definitely come back and recommend 😊 Went here twice during our stay at the cotswold water Park, first time was fine great with great food, had a sausage and egg bap with a hot chocolate, the 2nd time I had the same and I was drinking my hot chocolate and tasted something funny thought it was a bit of chocolate mix that hadn't been dissolved properly got curious and took it out of my mouth and it turned out to be a dead wasp, unhappy with this as this place was excellent for the food disappointed about this as if I had bitten into the stinger then I would've gone back and complained, be aware as I don't think they properly check their food and drink before serving, I had this as a takeaway. was and atmosphere was calming.
