What a beautiful place to around. I'm a bit sad that my dog had to be kept on a lead, but not all dogs are well behaved or trained so I understand. The cafe was a nice place to be. Beautiful views. Lovely walk. Longest rope bridge in the UK. Great family day out for Halloween. Lots of props around the walks & witches hiding behind trees. Great effort by Blue Pool. Lots of families having a great time. Optional pumpkin carving, crafts and marshmallows to toast at £2 a bag. Love the new rope bridge. Nice quick walk. We got lost a few times and it’s easy to in circles. Unfortunately the was Green the day we visited. 🤔 The tea room and facilities were nice and clean. Good to see the toilets were twinned with a toilet in Afghanistan. I was only able to spend a couple of hours here at the Blue pool, I would have loved to spend longer and explored all the trails. Im glad I did get to around the entire which was stunning. And the info boards all around the trails are very interesting too. Lovely place for hiking. Loved this place on a recent visit to Dorset, having been going to Dorset for over 30 years now and just found this amazing place, so peaceful, lovely surroundings. Once you enter the car park which has quite a few places , you will find a little hut to pay your entrance fee which was £7.50 per adult and £3.75 for over 5 year olds . There is a suggested donation of £2 for the car park which helps towards running costs. Ask the person at the hut for a fairy trail leaflet ,we had such fun walking through the woods finding little fairy doors along the way , also look at the back of the leaflet for other animals you may spot along the way , woodpeckers, squirrels and owls. You will also find a children’s play area and a lovely gift shop and cafe . Lovely place to take a dog for a and also to have a picnic. Just a warning you can’t swim or go in the blue pool. I stayed for a few hours and walked the suggested walking routes twice . Have fun everyone . 😁 Lovely place to visit, different lengths of walks all take you by the Blue pool. The New Rope bridge is a nice feature Beautiful with nature and scenery. Great walks and fairy trail along the way which is good if you have younger children! is just stunning. £7.50 entry free which I think is perhaps a bit much but understandable to help keep the site tidy I suppose! Cafe/tearooms serve beautiful cakes and other food too but is covered in wasps which absolutely isn’t there fault but they were everywhere! Blue is still as amazing as it was 30yrs ago when I visited as a child. Lots of beautiful walks around the reservoir and paths maintained well which I thought was nice. Would like to have seen toilets on route though as the only ones were by the restaurant and when over the other side it's a bit of a trek back. That's my only criticism though and would not put me off coming back. A nice area to visit but was expecting more - especially for paying entry at £5 per adult and £2.50 for under 18s. Peaceful and plenty of little spots to sit down and relax but the playground is pretty standard despite what seems to be a couple of new wooden play features. All the other visitors were friendly and so were their dogs. (Dogs need to be kept on their leash). You can’t swim or go in the which is a shame especially on a hot day. Lastly, like the other reviews say, it’s more green than blue lol. It’s a lovely lake. But £7.50 per adult? Really? Very steep for a max 15 minute around. Topped off with a suggested £2 car park donation too 😬 👍👍 Beautiful place to explore. Play area and secret fairy homes to find. The is stunning- shimmers in the sunlight. Benches all the way round. Definitely worth visiting and taking a picnic! Cafe not open on a Wednesday or Thursday.
