We were particularly impressed by the spacious and well-maintained habitats. All the people doing the talks were really informative and happy to answer any questions. I really like how World isn’t a zoo but a rescue centre. They prioritise the wellness of the animals which is a thing. The have plenty of spaces inside and inside. They seem to be where they are at least I hope so. The team seem to really care about them. The are rescued from laboratories, shows or owners who couldn’t take care of them. They are from all around the world. And there are different types of monkeys. The is huge and you can stay for hours exploring and watching the monkeys. It’s really fascinating! The only downside was that it was really busy during summer and some guests weren’t really respectful with the and other guests. I think there should be some people around telling people not to shout, knock on the windows or trying to give food to monkeys. This brought back such wonderful memories of visiting here with my grandparents when I was small. There are so many different across a pretty large park. There were of children around and they all seemed to be enjoying it, just as I did when I was young. I definitely recommend coming to world for a fun filled day out. A day out for families. At first I was a bit reticent coming here as I thought it was a zoo but turned out it’s a rescue centre. I was surprised to see how spacious their space is and how many toys they have. It seems like they take care of them which is good. The seemed to be too. It was to see them all! The is huge and you can spend half a day or more if you take your time. A place to spend time, but in weather. We were lucky, the were outside and posed beautifully. Children and adults will like it. Very young children have places to play besides the joy of the themselves. The parking lot is large. Since we are local, the price was half as much. I recommend to visit. Fantastic place! Each enclosure had information about each monkey, most are rescued and had been treated horribly. Enclosures are very big so of room for them to run around. We saw and of playing, it was very sweet. There were talks given at different times. Toilets all around the park. Drinks and light snacks too. At the entrance/exit there was a bigger food hall which was priced really well and the food was good. There was also a gift shop and a place where you could adopt a monkey. It is a massive place so be prepared for of walking. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Been coming here for twenty plus years and always have a time. We visited during local resident offer in January and managed to see of despite colder weather. all seem to be well after and happy. Brilliant at the end of the too, worth the alone. We were lucky that the weather was so and the so quiet. You can't can't escape the fact that these beautiful animals aren't in the wild - with infinite space around them - but they also wouldn't be alive. The space they have feels generous - and engaging for them to have fun. World treads a delicate line carefully - and has created an educational and enjoyable day out. We watched play and interact not just with each other but with us too. They are incredible to watch. Good job World. Keep doing a job. This place really is special and you can't help but watch these magnificent creatures and feel pure compassion. I've never really been fond of animals in enclosures, but when you come here and realise that they are actually safer in them it's a tough pill to swallow, the danger and threat they face in the wild is disgusting. So visiting i actually felt so much admiration for the people who work here and tirelessly help these beautiful animals live out safe lives and can build relationships together in a safe environment. The enclosures here are huge and really well put together, some of the chimps have huge amounts of room to move. They are all well fed and after, the staff are all very knowledgeable and you can tell this means something to them. Having watched the series World all those years ago, it felt like visiting an old friend. We caught a talk by the keeper of the woolly monkeys, he was fantastic. The enthusiasm, knowledge and love of his job shone through. Everywhere thoughtfully laid out,with play areas for the children. place to people watch... found myself wondering at times who was the most intelligent of the species 🤔 Many of us have seen World on tv, but when you actually visit, is so fantastic in every way, tv doesnt do it justice. The and apes are in such beautiful enclosures and they have so much room with interconnected areas so they can choose where the wish to be just like being in the wild. There are so many trees and climbing areas so it is extremely natural for them. Definitely well worth visiting and ticket prices are value for money. What a wonderful experience ❤️ My daughter is a wheelchair user and although the paths can be a bit steep and rough it was manageable. We booked a private tour for £35 money well spent - Karen was an amazing host and we got of inside info which followers of the tv show will appreciate. It was not too busy as I think schools locally had just gone back. Cafe not too expensive and a decent gift shop. Excellent. I went with family who watch the show every evening. We all throroughly enjoyed it. It was a lot more walking than we all thought but there was so much to see. We listed to a chimpanzee talk and you can really tell how much all the staff care about the animals they have. All of the enclosures clean and tidy but in a natural sort of way! My only moan is that the map is terrible. I could not figure out the map at all. There were other people who struggled to as they asked me for help! Worth the visit. There were of play areas for kids and the big one (I think it's called the orangutan maybe) great. Plenty of space for picnics and for little ones to run around. A day out. Such a place. It's a shame the have come from mixed backgrounds, and some with very sad stories. Thankfully they are now being cared for here. We all loved seeing the different monkeys, they are so funny to watch just doing their own things. It is very interactive with an app that talks you through all the different areas and tells you about the different monkeys. The is huge, so make sure you use the map otherwise it's very easy to miss some parts of the park. We very nearly did! The play areas are great, and my son loves the huge slides at one of them. The only negative was that only one of the cafés were open, and as it was half term, it was packed! The other big café was closed, and the little food hut only had one guy serving and making the food. So in the end we couldn't wait to get food, and decided to leave and get food elsewhere. Also my son wanted to adopt an ape, but the area where you do this has nobody there, so again we didn't get to do this. We still loved our time here though, and if we are in the area again, we will definitely again. Fantastic family day out! The and apes are so and clearly very well cared for. Food and drinks are reasonably priced but you could take your own picnic. Monkey world is even better than we expected. It's 10 years since we last visited and has improved so much. The enclosures are generally bigger and better and the and apes seem happy. It's hard to see some of the animals in the enclosures from the ground but I think they prefer it that way. The entry price is for a family too, so a day out. Toilets were clean and of picnic areas for lunch. We loved seeing all the monkeys, and they all look well after with decent enclosures. However we couldn't help but feel the as a whole rundown, the cafe didn't look appealing, and the gift shop is so dark and gloomy. Sad to see the Lemur enclosure is closed, and by the looks of it has been for sometime, but yet it still appears on the maps and signposts around the park. I suppose as long as the animals are well after I'm happy, but it hasn't made us want to return. Wonderful place. We particularly enjoyed the talks. Our Daughter has always wanted to World, so not to disapoint her, as She still had a Weeks Holiday left from work, Me and My Wife Decided to journey to Poole from North Wales, booked into a Travel Lodge for a few nights, and it was a very enjoyable experience for the three of us. It was a very Hot Day, of walking, but there's a few kiosks where you can get Cold Treats. Plenty to see, and amuse you too. Well what can I say, this is a attraction and by visiting you will hear some sad stories about how the apes and have been treated while at the same time doing by providing money to keep the in food and 5* accommodation. The staff are very knowledgeable and answer all your questions, thank god for people like this that have a passion the welfare of all the apes and in their care. I first visited World about 20 odd years ago, with my older children, as we are currently holidaying in Dorset I thought we would take our daughter there as shes never been. We spent a lovely few hours wandering around looking at the monkeys. All the still cared for and healthy with decent sized enclosures. Will definitely go back again at some point. Reasonably priced for an afternoon out. Fantastic day out, our 19 month old loved seeing all the different kinds of as did we. The keeper talks throughout the day were really informative, and the was big, you can easily spend the day there if you pace yourself. Just losing a star as the toilets I went too weren’t very clean and very basic baby changing. Could have been more food outlets open too seeing as it was a sunny Saturday in June. But overall, a really day out for a price. This was our first to World. I used to watch Life on tv and have always wanted to visit. The place is an amazing sanctuary for primates. We spent most of the day here to try and see all the and explore the whole place. The look and well after. The enclosures were spacious too. Its amazing to see that this is a not for profit organisation and money is directed towards the welfare of the monkeys. They have terribly sad back stories but so glad they have been rescued and are able to live in this safe and harm free environment. Each has a name and there are descriptions of all of them including their personality and traits. There is ample parking, the cafe food is and there are toilets throughout the site. My friend and i had the best time. We would definitely recommend. Our recent to World was highly enjoyable. We were particularly impressed by the spacious and well-maintained habitats, especially the extensive enclosures for the chimpanzees, orangutans, and woolly monkeys, which allowed for excellent observation of their daily activities. We did observe that the reflective glass used in some habitats presented a challenge to visibility, particularly on bright, sunny days when the exterior light significantly overpowered the interior. This glare effectively turned the glass into a mirror, hindering our ability to view the animals. While we understand and appreciate that the animals' well-being is the primary concern, and this issue does not impact their care, it does affect the visitor experience. We respectfully suggest exploring potential solutions to mitigate this glare, such as the application of anti-glare film or a matte clear coating to the visitor-facing side of the glass. Recognizing World's status as an ape rescue center with potentially limited resources, we understand that animal welfare takes precedence. We hope that this feedback may prompt consideration of cost-effective solutions, and perhaps inspire a partnership or donation from a company specializing in anti-glare technologies to enhance the visitor experience without compromising the center's mission. I love it here and it was also my late parents favourite place and my children and grandchild are also following in our footsteps.. family day out! We also have a tree there for my mum and we have just bought a bench for my dad and mum.
