Stopped off here for a late lunch. Very welcoming when i went to the bar to ask about ordering food and as we had a dog were we ok to sit outside. The young member was very polite and she gave us menus explained everything and so we ordered our food. This food was amazing, presented abd tasted great. Not over priced and definitely value for money, we left very satisfied and full. Highly recommend. pub, recently refurbished and with new owners who are super friendly. Finally to have a pub nearby that serves food at the times they advertise (we went there at 8pm on a Sunday evening, after trying another pub where the chef had packed up and gone home because it was quiet 🤣). Food cooked from fresh (unlike a lot of chain pubs) and ales were well kept. Will definitely be back. Serving were very pleasant and attentive. Drinks menu limited. Food menu also quite limited. Just a teaspoon of mushy peas with my fish and chips. The medley of green vegetables served with another dish was about 3 green beans chopped up in a sea of peas. The white wine sauce didn't really taste of white wine, just white pepper. Disappointing. We popped in on a rainy Saturday and ended up staying for both and dinner, had a afternoon in the pub! The were super friendly attentive and accommodating (seated 4 of us at a table in a busy pub, and kept our drinks topped up) I had the skirt and was SO impressed! tender, tasty and just one of the best steaks Ive had. I also had the fish and chips, fish was fresh and light with a crispy batter. My mate had the Pie and said that was great too. Rolled out of there very happy and back to our damp campsite. No photos sorry, too busy having a time. What an amazing place, we went there whilst on holiday camping as it was our friends wedding anniversary. They were very welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing, the chef was even able to make a sauce for my wife on the fly which she said was super, and she is a chef so that tells you how it was. Had a dinner very pubI had a delightful dinner at a charming pub last night. The service was exceptionally good, with the going above and beyond to ensure our was perfect. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing out. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The pub itself was beautifully decorated, adding to the cozy ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the friendly and welcoming who made us feel right at home. It was a truly memorable experience that I will cherish. I highly this pub to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Went here on 22nd September 2025 for an early meal. Ordered and ale pie. Pie was tasty enough. Mashed potato were watery tasteless, had a green hue and was inedible. Veg was peas and cabbage, also bland. Presentation of the food lacked. My wife's food, salmon was a better option. Meal was also overpriced. Very disappointing. Just had Sunday and hugely disappointed with the ‘quality’ of the vegetables. The carrots were both burnt and soggy, the potatoes had obviously been deep fried and were completely inedible while the rest of the veg was all over cooked. The saving grace was the beef which was very good. Would probably have had a sweet but we were put off by the poor quality of the main course. Visited on 3rd June 2025 for food. Ordered x2 and Hunters chickenx1 plus side veg and garlic bread. Very staff, and very service. Unfortunately I had a very tough and gristly and had to send it back. Absolutely no argument or issue with this and stayed very polite and helpful. 2nd absolutely fine and was not charged for, which is only to be expected, but they also didn't charge for the sides, which was a touch. The food was very and fresh and a can be poor on occasion, so not the chefs fault. Have been to Halfway Inn numerous times in the past and has always been good. It is now under new management and if they keep this up, they won't go far wrong. Will be back. very nice. Pub very nice, food very nice, beer very nice. 4.8 star, as always wriggle room for improvement. Thank you. Just happened to be passing through yesterday and so glad we stopped here. The were very and welcoming and the food was amazing. We both ordered pie and mash of the day, without asking what was in the pie. We were not disappointed, every element of the meal was exquisite. We will certainly try to go back there again soon. Many thanks to the and the chef, it was a real pleasure. Had with a friend, both had a starter, main and dessert. All 3 courses were excellent, I the Prawns for starter and the rib eye for main. Service was faultless and the couldn’t do enough to help. The food was absolutely out of taste. We have visited the Corfe Castle last weekend and stopped in the pub to have a lunch. The Sunday Roast... was... unchewable beef that make my teeth suffer, absolutely cold meal with unsalted peas and a greyish something instead of gravy and as a cherry on a cake... completely burnt potato. I mean it - I have got three coals on my plate. If you wondered have tasty food, please, avoid this place. We had heard the pub was under new management so popped over for a sunday and glad we did as the food and friendly service was super. The pub looks again too and would this to any of our family & friends will definitely be calling in again soon. James kindly allowed us to stay over night in our motorhome overnight. The pub has recently come under new management. The food and service was excellent. The pub is a charming old coach house with history and character. We will be returning and highly recommend. Thank you x Stopped in for a Thursday afternoon lunch, all the were so and very attentive! There were plenty of great options to choose from and some amazing specials. I opted for the Whitebait for starter and flat iron with garlic prawns add on for main. Both were great portions for the price, and the was cooked perfectly. We’ll definitely be back and can’t it enough. Favourite meal out in a long time.
