Cleanliness definitely needed improving! Crumbs on table. Hairs on bed. Hair in the shower. It felt like things were bodged when fixed. Things needed refreshing. Couldn't go in the pool when we wanted had to go online at 8am to book a slot so never went in the pool which was sad. The whole area looked like it needed upgrading/updating. Good location easy access to where we wanted to go. Rooms quiet and fairly dark apart from the green light on the emergency lights that illuminated the room. Quite small if you have multiple people there. We had 2 adults in a silver bungalow and still felt small. The oven stopped working so we wasted lots of food aswell, although when we did call them to get someone to have a look they came over very quickly. We holidayed here for the first time in July and we were really pleased with what we found. A lovely location and our little house was perfect for our needs and fully equipped. It was a great base to visit the places we wanted to see. It's not perfect and it's definitely a little dated, but you get what you pay for and Kenegie Manor is most certainly great value for money. We arrived a family of 4 on fri 25th July at Kenegie Manor. After booking in we went to our bungalow No14 Old Court. Once unpacked I was very shocked to notice several causes for concern. Firstly the cooker inside was covered with a white cleaning product, not fit to be cooking with. The ceiling in the kitchen was also flaking where I can only assume it's had damp and been painted over. On going out we then discovered an infestation of flys by the front door, we reported this and the dirty cooker to reception only to be told we will give you some fly spray but no mention of cleaning the cooker. The staff who dealt with this were really not bothered at all and it all seemed like we were just being a nuisance. We asked could we be moved to another room as we had 2 young children, we were told there was no rooms avalible at all across the whole site and if we were not satisfied then we could have a refund. This is absolutely disgusting and not acceptable at all. We were not prepared to pack all of our belongings away then relocate to another hotel/apartment somewhere completely different. The very unfriendly member of staff came to our bungalow with fly spray and a Hoover, she and a colleague partially cleared the infestation then left. In the mean time we have not heard a word from them to see if we are ok or if the flys returned, which they did and we have each day had to spray to kill them off, absolutely disgusting! We have also since being here discovered many other unsafe issues. An electric radiator in the bathroom, socket not screwed down and you can see the live wires behind, I have had to tell my children to be extremely careful with this or they would be at risk of getting an electric shock. There are two front doors to the bungalow were staying in and I assume both are classed/recorded as Fire Exits as they both have emergency lighting above them, sadly one of the doors only opens about one inch as it is Fouled by a curtain/Blind fixture rail, surely this breaches the Fire safety Act? So just a few other things that were really not acceptable, very cheap mattresses, rather like sofa bed mattresses, racking for a wardrobe, hot water tap runs cold after running a couple of minutes, duvet covers that do not fit the duvets correctly, the children have one single duvet each both have double duvet covers, WHY!! The swimming pool on the web page looks lovely with food being served, sadly thats not the case, the bar there is run down, nothing there and with no tables. Also the safety for children whilst in the pool was neglected, it states children under 15 must be supervised by an adult at all times, on 3 occasions a child under 10yrs was in the pool unsupervised. No changing rooms so you have to walk back to your rooms in your wet swimwear. I know that some of these final few things might seem a little trivial but on top of everything else it has really tainted the whole experience. I would like to add that across from us is an apartment that since being here has had no one renting it, it's very frustrating as we still have the fly infestation and could of easily been moved over there. "I thought every room on site was fully booked!!" I would seriously consider looking elsewhere if you plan on staying in this area.
