Lovely walks. Nice and visitor centre. Really good childrens adventure park. Fishing seems popular. Plenty of car parks at a reasonable price Lovely quiet round the reservoir and across the dam. Beautiful scenery and there is a and toilets at the visitors centre. Great place for a quiet or run the length of the dam as it is 0.54m long, so great practice for improving your mile time. The needs to stop the wasps inside and out, there are thousanss of them which make eating an ice cream in peace impossible. Please get a kettle and proper strong tea bags. The tea sold is cold weak and very weak, not enjoyable. Please get a decent coffe bean, over £12 pounds for three warm drinks and a small ice cream, it should be right. Its a great place for a dog wit paths and also hiking and biking paths which we have yet to explore. Theres a dog exercising field too, which is huge and a with food and restrooms. Plenty of parking around different access points, fishing is possible and awesome views. Theres a playground for children next to the as well. Great place, but be prepared for a huge circular walk. We thought this would be a canny afternoon stroll, but it would definitely be a whole day activity to the whole reservoir. There's not a great deal of way marking on the route, so a map or prior knowledge will be required for navigation. Nice at car park with clean and modern toilet facilities. Would definitely go again with more time on our hands! When for a around the reservoir and had a stop off here for a coffee. The dog ran off some energy in the enclosed field, which is well maintained with benches and water readily available for the dogs. There is plenty of seating outside which has a covered area if you wish. Also a station to wash bikes and muddy boots. A nice place for everyone. Café is good. Toilets are clean. Parking is cheap. Walking up to the reservoir and along the path or across the dam is a pleasure. Good seats to watch a sunset. The children's play park is well equipped too. Great place for a coffee outside the café. Good for cyclists and fishing. What more could you want on a sunny day. Really nice place, awesome views. We parked at the visitors centre, the up to the reservoir was uphill but totally worth it!
