What a visit to this pub on a bank holiday Monday ! We hadn't booked but were immediately seated. Drinks were offered by exceptional servers, who throughout the meal checked on our drinks and asked if we were happy . We started with the tiger prawn and thai fishcakes, which were both really good . We both ordered a salad with chicken breast and caesar dressing with chips on the side. It was outstanding , and we couldn't finish it . Great value for money , pretty horses in the opposite field and a beautiful drive out. I'd highly recommend The Jolly Drovers and will definitely return . Oh, and they do a stunning looking carvery too!! Family meal this evening, staff & atmosphere. Got the new Christmas menu this week 3 course I took my dessert home as was stuffed after my amazing carvery Second visit here, last time was quite a while ago, and we had a decent carvery. This time we were too late for the carvery so ordered from the menu. I went for the slow lamb shank with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots and broccoli, the veg was fine however mash was only lukewarm and the lamb shank had been over and was dry in places. The wife went for the Gammon, which arrived a little under and had to be sent back and re cooked. The staff were very helpful however and wife's meal was fine Second time around. We will be returning to give them another chance. Always a warm welcome, excellent service and fabulous food. Great value for money with very generous portions. service service atmosphere. A clean and tidy place thay was welcoming from the entry. Polite stagg and open areas mean it wasnt cramped and there as plenty of space to love around. The food was really nice but you do pay a premium for it. It was well and ther portion sizes made up for the price so you get what you pay for. The entire place was clean and presented nicely, the buffet dinners were going on as we left and the food bar looked amazing with fresh looking food galore Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner. Freshly breakfast every morning by chefs. Comfortable clean rooms. Lovely friendly staff who have a sense of humour as well as providing great service. Plenty of parking and garden area. Plenty of local custom, always a good sign. Heard great things about the food here and it did not disappointment, we had the steak and a hot beef bap and they were lovely. It would be great if they included a menu for dogs as it would have been nice to give our boy something. Also our table in the bar was in a slightly awkward spot with people moving through us to get to their seat. A very pub all around, will definitely come here again. please be aware you don’t get to pick your own takeaway carvery items now !!!! They are brought to you at the bar. Not great when you get home with a tray full veg no one likes resulting in a complete waste of money. Especially on a Sunday. The least you can do is make people aware before hand !!! Jollys is always my go to place when I want to celebrate a special occasion or when you fancy eating out. The staff are friendly and super helpful and very acommodating. The food is and serve some of the tastiest onion rings I've ever had.
