A great place to be. Updated review to reduce from 4 stars to 1 after a recent visit. We were greeted by a young blonde male at the till who had no customer service skills, no hi or a smile. My partner and child went in to the fun session while I stayed in the viewing gallery. For the second half of the fun session the lifeguards switched over (not sure why as they had only been in there for 30 mins!) and the female lifeguard for the learner didn't stay by the for more than 5 mins before moving to sit with a male lifeguard (who should have been watching the big pool!) by the showers. Not once did she scan the learner or go back to be closer to the learner which is lifeguard protocols. She was clearly not bothered that a serious incident could have occurred. Compared to another local swim which has 3 lifeguards on during a fun session with 1 constantly walking around the large this shows how lazy and ignorant the lifeguards are here. The female lifeguard should be sacked or re trained as a minimum. This was reported to a male colleague behind reception as soon as fun session ended. We will not be returning as safety is clearly not in the staffs mindset! Clean, warm pools with clean changing rooms. Accessibility ramp is a really good bonus to be inclusive! Only downside is that at times we've been in the baby with a baby (under 12mo) and children who are able to swim have been in there too. Ok at quiet times, doesn't feel very safe at busy times when you're trying to hold a baby and children are swimming underwater etc Brilliant friendly and nice pool. With our frequent visit’s we have developed friendships with the at the venue, who are always friendly and helpful when needed, and are playful towards my toddler making our visit that little bit more fun. ;) Never ever in my life will I ever step foot in the aqua centre again. Ive been coming here for 20 years, and it just isnt the same. The customer service here is the worst its ever been. Harvey is extremely passively agressive with customers, and always has his eyes on us when coming here with my girlfriend. I was once swimming peacefully in the with a snorkle and I was almost hung, drawn, and quatered for it. I had at least 5 life gaurds threatening to drag me out if i didnt surrender the snorkle (im a professional). It was as if I had a gun! It still haunts me to this day... BEYOND HORRIFIC. Where do I start. The Aqua centre USED to be AMAZING. Now, it's the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. The are extremely rude, they talk to you with pure authority and nothing else. They constantly harass my brother who is learning to swim. But, in a really passive aggressive way. The blonde male lifeguard with short hair has his eyes glued to us when I am training the young lad how to be a strong swimmer. Then, when the life guards switch over, he tells the life guards on duty to watch us. It's really intimidating. They say it's for our own safety but my brother is 14 and his swimming is incredible. However, that's just the beginning. If any of my friends, family, or distant relatives visit the pool, the are just so passive aggressive and rude. As soon as you get to the till, you are greeted with a dirty look. It doesn't cost much to be polite to customers, however, it seems too much of a chore for the members here at Aqua Center.
