This is one of our favourite local places to visit, it is so well maintained and full of information about the wildlife, flowers and the woodland itself....The local Ducks,Geese,Swans and Seagulls will always join you when you offer them something to eat...It is set in a lovely area with Meandering pathways down through the lovely leafy woods leading down to the beautiful at the bottom...There are plenty of places to sit plus picnic tables for everyone to enjoy....... There is the lovely little cafe shack and play area for the children, plus plenty of free entry and parking ........It’s a great place to look around on a lovely sunny day like it was on our visit.......👍 Nice straight from the free carpark with loads of birds chirping, bridges over the stream and snow drops Cafe is closed over winter opening Feb half term We went to this spot to check it out for fishing. We walked around the which takes 10/15 mins. Nice through a woodland next to a river then around the lake. There is lots of benches to sit on and lots of fishing spots for single anglers. We found 2 grassy areas at the end of the where you could have multiple anglers but nothing would be suitable for big groups. Seems you have to purchase a fishing ticket from the stationary store in town or Maggie’s tackle and bait store (although this says closed on Google). We will be back on a day with better weather to investigate the fishing further! There are information signs all around the place on the wildlife which would be great for kids. When leaving don’t take the right path out of the area as this takes you through all the housing and is a longer route back to your car. Best to take the left or middle path to get back to your car. Overall seems like a good spot for a fishing/picnic day out :) Very restful, nicely laid out park with a pleasant nature walk The paths are easy to follow. Not at all strenuous, but anyone with any physical limitations may need to be aware that it's downhill all the way in and uphill all the way back. Plenty of people dogs there. Very enjoyable saying hello to several of them. What a beautiful place to around with our dogs. The cafe was closed and it was very quiet as it was quite late in the evening. I imagine it can get very busy at times. Very peaceful and full of wildlife. Lovely round the and woodland with the dogs The has been remodeled and is much more accessible. There is a small children's park and cafe. Found a few of the Royal Wotton Bassett rocks. Fishing is allowed with a permit. Swimming is not allowed. Very nice on a sunny day Beautiful, quiet and peaceful place!
