Wunderschöne Geschichte hinter der Skulptur. Powerful sculpture commemorating an incredible cross-cultural connection of Kindred Spirits - Choctaw Nation kindness during the Irish famine. Small but beautiful park. Lovely setting looking over the estuary with the famous Choctaw monument in the centre. Locally known as 'The Feathers'. The landscaping has been changed to make the more accessible, in recent weeks. New lighting has been installed on the monument so it's often lit up in different colours. A nice place to sit and look at wild water birds at the edge of a pond in peace. Admire the tribute sculpture to The Choctaw First Nation People who denoted money to Irish Famine victims when they had barely anything themselves. A great monument to the Choctaw Tribe of the United States who helped starving families in Ireland. A unique memorial to the Choctaw nation. Read about it and learn something extraordinary. An easy walk from the town centre Not bad Absolutely fabulous place, my favourite spot in our area! Magical sunrise and relaxing evening, the feathers light up towards the evening making it a very romantic spot! 😉 Very small park. Nice only if you have small toddler, small dog and don't like long walks 😂 took me 5min. Few meters further is an entrance to a proper longer walk by the water... On the other side you can hear the cars (N25) but better than nothing. This sculpture is both beautiful and meaningful Beautiful arcitecture Lovely little with a very cool monument to the Choctaw nation for its donation during the famine. Lovely walk here in east Cork in the town of Midleton. Mid way through the walk you get two options, the left leading to a woodland walk or right bypassing the town. Great car spaces. On occasion a lovely horse box converted into a beverage and snack shop can be found in the carpark. Nice little with nice feather memorial to Choctaw kindness during the famine. Nice little spot to chill in while passing through to and from town There are benches to sit on but the grass under the trees are even cosier Only downside is being near the roads Beautiful and poignant Time for a new sign please Cork County Council Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
