Beautiful and charming little town, set on a hill, with a fortress at the top. Very touristic and busy, but definitely a visit. Lots of lovely little shops, cafes and restaurants. Very scenic and fun. Visiting the Old of Bar was like stepping into a forgotten chapter of history. Nestled at the foot of Mount Rumija, this ancient fortress offers sweeping views, crumbling stone walls, and a palpable sense of mystery. The €5 fee is well it—inside, you’ll find winding paths, remnants of churches and towers, and quiet corners perfect for reflection or photos. I especially loved how nature has reclaimed parts of the ruins, with fig trees and wild herbs growing between the stones. It’s peaceful, atmospheric, and surprisingly expansive. There are also charming cafés just outside the where you can sip a cold drink and soak in the view. Whether you're a buff, a photographer, or just someone who enjoys wandering through beautiful ruins, Stari Bar is a must-see. Just wear good shoes and bring water—there’s a lot to explore! Pretty cool little spot, it’s €5 to enter and walk around the complex. There are cats that chill there as well which is a win in my book. Bring a hat and water for summer! Really ruins! We strolled around these of the old with some descriptions. It took around 2 - 3 hours! Well visiting. One can see old Bar life through the going way back to BC ages. There are also museums with interesting exhibits and artefacts to see collected on the archaeological sites around. Locations of interest are well marked with plaques with historical texts placed for tourists to get the grasp of the importance of certain buildings within the old town. Overall recommended for a visit. The old is easy to get lost in. That's the beauty of it. It can get quite busy, beware when there are cruise ships in the bay as then it gets crowded. Early in the morning is best as the it is not too hot. A great attraction for relaxation and walking! Restaurants with delicious food! Beautiful views of the city of Bar and the sea! Taxi from the station - about 10€. Buses in winter run about 1 time per hour. From the station, walk a little more than an hour uphill. There is a sidewalk almost along the entire road. Recommend! 👍 Super odlično mesto.Ako budete u prilici obavezno posetite. Ciekawe historyczne miejsce. Warto wziąć pod uwagę porę roku do zwiedzania gdyż nawet pod koniec sierpnia są tutaj tłumy. Zdecydowanie warto przyjechać wcześniej rano aby nie mieć problemów z zaparkowaniem. Old of Bar was our first stop of the two day trip from Albania to Montenegro. It was quite early in the morning and the businesses were just opening up. We didn't do much apart from a short of the main streets and greet a few albanian habitants. Would love to go back and explore some more about the history, the traditions of the people there. There was also this special dog that greeted us at the of the and accompanied us all the way till the end. It made everything even more memorable 😊 It is a place to visit. There are great restaurants and shops with olive products in the street that leads to a fortress. We paid the 3€ and it’s visiting. The view is amazing and you can learn about their and what happened in the fortress. There is a parking nearby. I would recommend this place. Quite different from the other old towns I've visited in Montenegro. I liked it. Lovely vibrant place to and have lunch or a cold drink. Fortress is also exploring with some great views. Interesting place to with a view, reasonable fee 5€ adult /1€ child. A experience. A picturesque old style road lined with shops and restaurants lead up to the vast territory of the old castle. fee is EUR3 for all. The place is big, you can easily spend there 2 hours wandering around amongst old and some renovated buildings. a visit. views from the old town. You should get inside (cost like 5€ per person) and walk around there and watch the old staff. The Bar of Montenegro is located on the other side of the Adriatic Sea in the front of Italian Bari with a ferry connection between them. The Old of Bar is almost untouched that makes it more interesting and impressive. All around, on the surface. Just turn into one of the side streets and you will see the real backstage. Just in front of us, 50 m from the main street a girl dumped a bag of waste into the river, the example must come from above. Do not leave a penny in that until they learn how manage their waste, preserve nature and their cultural heritage. A very calm and beautiful place for walking. You can see unusual mountains here, similar to triangular sandwiches. We arrived here in early November. And it's a great time to visit. There are few people here, convenient locations for filming. There is a small museum of finds and old utensils. I think this is one of the most beautiful old towns in Montenegro. You will find many benches here to sit down and relax. Excellent place! Full of and atmosphere. We truly enjoyed it. It’s like you walk the walk of history. Strongly recommend! Absolutely awesome old town. €5 to enter, cad payment available. Lovely cafes and restaurants surrounding before and after you enter also. Very cool place, exceeded my expectations:) Very interesting and quiet atmosphere. Entry is 5€. Really beautiful and interesting stroll around the old of bar, it was quiet and had information plaques throughout. Would recommend it. The restaurant and shopping area right outside the walls was lovely too. Well a visit. Very instagrammable ruins, quite big area. 5€ adult ticket. Parking available, either paid and free(a few spots) . Much open space, be aware about sun in summer. Beautiful old Castle with beautiful view. All restaurants and shops accepting only cash! I want too coming back ♥️♥️♥️ Атмосферно Definitely a if you're in Bar! A fascinating old fortress with lots of and atmosphere. The are fun to explore, and the views over the mountains and surrounding landscape are incredible! The old is coo! Plenty of cloth, souvenir and coffee shops. Outside the walls there is a beach. visiting! Citadels cost 5,5€ per person! Nothing much to see in the Citadels. Not for the price. Ne surtout pas manquer cette visite !!
