Its a beautiful lake, you can do a through the lake, but nothing special about the ride...nothing much to see.... you can climb or the hill for a beautiful view of the from the height... Please me mindful of the agencies...there are many guys at the entrance of the parking selling tickets more than double the actual rate....they will also say, parking is full inside... please dont stop ther, drive towards the end of the visitors place - close to the bridge, there you will see official trip agencies - you can buy tickets from them at the published rates and they will arrange parking also for you... Quite hard finding free parking, 5 euros entry ticket to the park, group ticket 1 h 10 euro per person, 2 h 15 euro per person, private 40 euro per hour (we visited low season). Beautiful park with mountains view and loads of birds Visiting this was an absolute delight, a true gem for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and tranquility. The water was clear and calm, reflecting the surrounding trees and sky like a mirror, and the gentle breeze added to the peaceful atmosphere. The walking trails around the were well-maintained, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the view from different angles, whether you wanted to take a leisurely stroll, go for a jog, or simply find a quiet spot to sit and reflect. Wildlife was abundant yet unobtrusive—birds gliding across the water, fish occasionally rippling the surface, and the occasional rustle in the reeds. What makes this special is how it balances accessibility and serenity. There were areas perfect for picnics and family outings, yet plenty of quieter corners for solitude. Sunsets over the water were breathtaking, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink. It’s the kind of place you leave feeling refreshed, already planning your next visit. Skadar is a perfect, untouched nature, full of birds, water lilies, a peaceful place to enjoy nature. There are wonderful beaches, restaurants with delicious fish. All recommendations for a visit. It's a really beautifull lake. At times it's as if you're on a documentary with Sir David Attenborough, boating through Thicke packs of lillies. In spring the lotus flowers form a blanket of white flowers. Very nice scenery. You kan rent a kayak or take a (private) tour by boat. In my opinion, when traveling in summer a 2 hour tour Will do. Only 10% of the is accessable by boat. The rest of it is a nature preservation what Aldo means that every adult has to pay An entrance fee ( €5 in 2025) to enter it. The is beautiful and still looks like an intact natural area, with many activities to enjoy, especially birdwatching – we saw pelicans, and it was amazing. But be prepared: there are many stray animals around, and sadly, many are in very poor condition. Still, we travelers can make a difference! Let’s talk about it and spread awareness. People here are used to this, and with so many animals, they probably don’t even know what to do – municipalities aren’t doing what they should. But this should not stop us. Please, don’t turn a blind eye. Every person who finds the courage to raise the issue can help change things, step by step! If you’re planning a trip here, you could bring some help, like food or parasite treatments — but most importantly, please raise awareness and consider donating to local organizations like @stray_aid_montenegro or @friendsofdogsmontenegro. What is really needed is a long-term sterilization program. We even suggested to the National Parks to collaborate with municipalities, so they could invest part of the ticket income into neutering campaigns to improve the overall wildlife conditions. Every little act counts. Together, we can make Montenegro even more beautiful – for both people and animals – and preserve the wild and authentic soul of Montenegro 💚 We did our of Skadar through a guided tour with Kingfisher and it was great! Lots of information about the birds and wildlife in this pristine ecosystem, and even a chance to go for a quick swim in the lake. The of a Monastery was on the program, but it was more of walk up a flight of stairs to get a good view of the than a proper per se. Had a good peaceful time here enjoying the slow with sightseeing. There's also a supermarket nearby and food stalls which can come in handy as well.
