Had a fabulous meal here at a very reasonable price. Booked the table online and some of the place is dog so remember to let them know as its a separate area from the main restaurant. We went for a late lunch with my brother-in-law. It was quite busy when we arrived, and we had to wait outside for a bit, but luckily it didn’t take long to get a table. The interior was nice and very clean — just be careful with the low staircase going to the other side! I had the Asian noodles, my husband had a burger, and my brother-in-law had a sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals overall, although I was expecting my noodles to be warm, but they were served cold. Unfortunately, no came back to check if everything was okay, and there wasn’t any follow-up or upselling for more drinks or desserts. We just finished our meals and left afterward. We did not stay in the rooms however, we did enjoy a fabulous lunch at Bertram's. The haggis & oxtail bon bon with peppercorn sauce were so rich & delicious! Accompanied by a garden salad, made the perfect lunch. The local crab sandwich was also lovely, fresh & flavourful. All ingredients were very fresh & tasty- no old wilted lettuce here! We did have a problem with some of the ordering of drinks. However, that was due to a language barrier & that happens. Great to see they welcome dogs into the restaurant! Excellent scones, cakes and coffee. ambiance, with bare stonework and solid fuel stoves. Outdoor courtyard for sitting in good weather. Dog-friendly. Top dog spot for breakfast. It's pristine, and very nicely done in a old build. I'd imagine it's on an evening also. We called in without a booking on a Sunday morning. The place was busy, and the were excellent. £16 for a full English isn't cheap, but it was actually really good value, and proper filling. Big recommendation 👍🏼 Beautiful cafe in Warkworth. were polite and attentive, very relaxed atmosphere. Had tea and a scone (pictured) which was really nice. Good selection of cakes and nice selection of foods on the menu. Toilets were very clean. Dog too. Great experience overall, will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. Came here for lunch and had a meal. A little pricy but worth it for quality of food and atmosphere. were and helpful despite it being busy. Did have to wait 20 mins for table due to ot being very popular. I called in here for afternoon tea (we weren't staying at the hotel) and was blown away by their cakes. Absolutely delicious! There was a queue to get in and we were asked to wait outside. We were forgotten, three sets of people who arrived after us went in before us. When asked the lady said we were not on the list, she showed me the list and I pointed us out. They then sat us at a table and forgot the cake we ordered, when asked about it we were told, oh sorry we don't have any of the Victoria sponge left, sorry, someone should have come and told you. Other people were then served before us who arrived after us even when seated, it seemed that they were not happy that we had spotted their error. Our 2 year old was given a boiling hot babychino and I had to go to the counter to get cold milk to add to it as the waitresses were to busy. All in all poor customer service. Mixed today, had to wait 20 minutes for a table which is fine when it’s busy and is to be expected. waitress with brown hair and glasses, other waitress with hooped earrings and hair tied up was very short with people and not at all. Food was very good as usual and the cakes were delicious. The foreign waitress forgot to bring the milk for the teas then when I asked questioned the fact she hadn’t brought it. Would still come again but not what it used to be. We’ve been visiting Bertram’s every time we come up to Northumberland on holiday. Unfortunately today’s visit was unusually poor. was terrible in fact. A young lady took our order of 2 full English breakfasts (not too difficult) and 2 coffees. My wife’s arrived 20 minutes later but no sign of mine. We sat and waited over 5 minutes for mine to arrive but as no were walking around my wife went to the counter to ask if mine was on its way. They hadn’t put my breakfast through to kitchen so another 15 minutes wait for food and my wife’s breakfast heated up for her. Another family arrived next to us and nobody came to take their order for 15 minutes, the lady got up and went to the counter to order food and came back saying to her husband that were just stood about talking. Very poor customer and no apology. It’s not as if it’s a cheap greasy spoon type place either. Defo need to improve or people will start to drop off. Went for a late lunch after a beautiful walk along Warkworth beach. Food was but the milling around ignoring us during our visit. Wanted to finish off with coffee but no one was bothered so we didn't bother! Always popular and food but feel the don't need to be nice as they still get the custom. Will definitely not be returning..... again this review will not touch them and negative attitude! Our first time having dinner here this evening, and wow, the food was amazing! Some of the reviews below are baffling to me as the food and was exceptional. They are also dog which is a huge bonus. Louise our server was amazing too. We have booked to come back again. Did not stay but really wouldn’t want to! We went for breakfast on our way home from a holiday in Alnmouth. The was appalling. We waited over half an hour for our full English breakfast. The food was OK but nothing to write home about - certainly wouldn’t recommend or return! We had a great weekend staying here. Lots of long walks on the beach to make room for the scrumptious food. We will definitely come again. The were all so including the lady who makes up the rooms.
