Never heard of this place before & the signs to are very much wanting, but when you get here, oh what a surprise. Of all the Zoo's I have visited, this Zoo clearly gives a deal of attention to the welfare of the & the enclosures are just prefect for the animals. A deal of thought has gone into their needs & requirements. Ok, not all the paths are solid around the site & some of the fences could do with a bit of work, but the enjoyment factor you get knowing the are being well looked after is wonderful. The eclectic mix of is excellent. A Leopard, Arctic Fox, Tapirs, Scottish Wildcat to name a few are worth a alone. The Fruit Bat house is one of the best I've seen, spacious & designed with thought & feeling for the Bats. The & Volunteers are helpful & there is a lovely & soft play inside & a outside play near the farm animals. If this place were to get it's act together & market itself effectively, it would need to double the size of the car park. A fantastic day out. A nice zoo, not too far from Alnwick. They're still building on their collection, which is pretty good, with a decent variety of animals, who have of space around them. There's of parking, with additional, overflow fields they can open up when it's busy. The cafe, while being basic, serves what kids want, with most things being pre-prepared, at not too a cost. It's not too pricey to get in, and you can easily lose three or four hours wandering around and just generally "mooching". They do talks and shows but we missed these. Apparently they're also very good. A must do if you're on holiday nearby or local. The were all well kept and looked happy. The was super friendly and seemed passionate about the and more than happy to stop and talk about the and their care, their life in the wild and their diets. Loved the fact its not all crammed and close enclosures its actually spaced well and of walking from one enclosure to another. Great little gift store, all amenities tidy. Parking was large with space for modern large vehicles. Bus parking also. But of a track to get to the zoo but nothing too strenuous. Booked in advance for speedy entry. If you have kids or tou are adults and wanted to explore a amount of this is the ideal location. Good parking and it's better to prebook jist in case. You have from insects, to farm animals. It's a interaction time for your toddles as well. Northumberland Zoo is really well laid out, with wide paths and viewing points that make exploring easy and enjoyable. The keepers were lovely! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to chat. The shows were entertaining for both kids and adults. The bat was nice but very pungent, so be prepared for the smell. Like many places this summer, there were quite a lot of wasps around. Overall, though, it’s a well-run, family-friendly zoo that’s a pleasure to visit. Well, on reflection , I have to say that this was not worth £62! It's a small zoo, with non of the headline acts like chimpanzees, elephants big cats etc etc. Some can be reclusive... don't expect to see too much. The food in the was pretty grim to be fair. The parking was free. The were pleasant and helpful, and it's well located. But I'm sorry, this is overpriced by £20 for a family of four. It's a little zoo, many different species and ones that you don't get to see often. The look well looked after and the shelters are in condition. The entry fee isn't too bad either, definitely book in advance and try to get in early if you go on a weekend or holiday. Feels really modern and well maintained. The exhibits were thoughtfully designed, immaculately maintained, and clearly prioritized the well-being of the animals. The were incredibly friendly, approachable, and added to the overall positive experience. With excellent parking and easy access, it’s a destination that’s truly worth the visit! Rather disappointed, sadly. December’s offer of half price tickets made sense when we arrived. Not ideal for when the internet was down and so had to take everyone’s booking reference by hand. Curious Creatures was closed, Wild Theatre wasn’t open until midday and a number of areas empty. The volunteer managing the Lemur enclosure did seemed like she would rather have been at home. Did not interact with visitors, even to say that the Lemurs were not very active this morning. Gift shop was the best bit for the kids and was what rescued the trip for them. 1 of the Leopard pacing up and down the glass seemingly bored. Visited on a cold, wet day, so we got the zoo to ourselves we made the most of it, the zoo had a decent range of animals. I felt better paying the entry fees as the lady explained even though there's no kne here and the weather isn't the best all the money goes back into the as it's non-profit. We even got a view of the even though it was a wet day as the indoor viewing was good. My favourite exhibit was the bats they are fascinating. Even though we were the only ones there, they still kept the and children's play areas open, which was nice. The seemed friendly and were more than willing to have a joke with us. All in, if you are in the area, it's worth a visit. It was a nice way to pass a few hours. Easy access, reasonably priced. Most of the were out and about when we visited. Not as big or overwhelming as Chester Zoo but to see and do for children of most ages. Highly recommend the Lemur walk and the Wild Theatre which allowed interactive opportunities with animals. well priced with wide selection of food and soft play was clean. An excellent zoo, well worth a visit. A really mixture of animals, including an amazing collection of owls. Well laid out, easy to get around and lots of maps, so you don't miss anything out! Great choice of food and drink at Bear Falls and very reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff, extremely knowledgeable about the too. Learnt a new word - crepuscular - that are active at dawn and dusk, the lynx and leopards. Highlight of the trip was the leopards, even if they were asleep and the racoons. Would definitely again. Brilliant day out for all the family. Well signposted and easily accessible for wheelchairs or prams. Great outdoor play area. Plenty of space to picnic all around the park, with the added bonus of a sheltered too. Toilets are clean and accessible for all needs throughout the park. The animal talks/ feeding times are well informed and we're very enjoyable. As was the bird display. Would definitely recommend and again 👍🏻 Fabulous day at Northumberland Zoo. Much bigger than I was expecting and loads to see. Everything from tiny harvest mice to beautiful leopards. Loved the layout and how close you could get to the enclosures. From a practical point of view, big car park close to the entrance, lots of play areas for younger children and a large although it was very busy and not cheap. There's a nice kiosk in the farm animal that sold sandwiches and drinks. of places to sit outside with a packed lunch. day out and I'll definitely go again 👍 I'm a support worker and we took the young man we look after. All I can say is lovely and what an amazing find on our door step. Spent four hours there waiting to see the leopard it paid off eventually they both came out. Was also amazing to go in with the kangaroos experience and also with the lemurs We had planned to go to Alnwick Castle or gardens but discovered these places closed after half term on Mondays so looking round where else to go and discovered this. The entrance price was reasonable. There are a variety of smallish including and Capybara. There is a building with bats inside and another with monkeys and lots of other thing's. They did a birds of prey display which was inside. Really enjoyed the day. Not been here for 6 years, a Hugh improvement, leopards, massive inclosure for fruit bats, a lovely day out, all well looked after animals, we spent the whole day here, first in and last out. The we didn't see on our first walk around we saw the second time. of toilets on site and places to eat, we took a packed lunch. What a fantastic place to visit. As a privately run Zoo it is on the top of my list for days out. Boasting a wide and varied range of it is for single visitors and families alike. If you are taking young children though I would avoid feeding times of the carnivores, especially the as they take pleasure in walking around, parading their spoils of dead rabbits and although natural for them, younger children may find it upsetting. The do give of warnings about this though. The park also has the cleanest and freshest portakabin toilets I have ever had the pleasure of using. And it is a pleasure, unlike most public toilets I have ever had to visit. The park boasts a very wide and varied range of and attractions and is reasonably priced. I can and have recommended it for both families and single visitors alike. I visited on my own and I am a disabled senior citizen with mobility issues but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole variety of things on my visit. The and alike are brilliant. We saw everything in half a day so you don’t need to rush. You’ll have time to see everything properly. I had a capybara experience bought for me that was absolutely amazing. A keeper took me into the pen to meet them. I got to hand feed them and give them of scratches under their chin and on their bellies. The keepers are very knowledgeable and share really interesting facts and stories about the animals. I can definitely recommend booking an animal experience as it’s suitable for both adults and children! You can also buy “adoption” kits in the gift shop for favourite too. The prices and deals throughout are really considering what you get. Will definitely be returning soon! Lovely place to with the kids. We visited beginning of March. Lovely and quiet and of to see. Wonderful full day attraction at Northumberland zoo. Loads of brilliant things to see and do with a toddler, keepers were super friendly and knowledgeable and very keen to share their experience. Giant donkey was a highlight! Loved our to the Zoo last week. We travelled there as 2 pensioners, 2 adults and 2 grandchildren aged 3 & 8. £93 for the admission. Thumbs up straight away as we thought that was fair and reasonable. The zoo is perfect for children aged 3-11, in my opinion. Not too large to navigate, filled with enough animals, large and very small, to keep everyone interested and happy and the was clean, bright, reasonably priced and staffed by very pleasant staff. There are other extras like a soft play area, snack machine and a booth selling ices. The shop is well stocked with of pocket money toys and gifts for all. The were the stars of the day, the otters were adorable but the meerkats stayed well hidden. Looking forward to a further some time soon. Wasn't sure what to expect, middle of nowhere on the sat nav but turned up and the whole place was well set up, huge range of interesting and information points. was and the food was decent compared to many other places that have your eyes out for poorer quality food. All in all, excellent experience and will definitely go back. Wow...what a place. So much to see and do and very interesting. The are fabulous especially the leopards. There's to keep anybody entertained here for hours and it's well worth a visit.
