The food surpasses typical pub fare, with hearty portions that satisfy. It's clientele is varied and unique and always friendly. Overall service is excellent, and the picturesque garden enhances the overall ambiance, contributing to a magical atmosphere. Do I recommend it? Absolutely. pub beside the K&A canal. selection of food at reasonable prices. A little slow on delivery but the place was busy. During the summer this would be a place to visit, or in winter for chilly walks. Campsite is fair price, but doesn’t mix well with lots of rain, understandably. Quite a lot to nearby. Superb food, portions size, value for money. for live music and Chris the chef makes an epic roast on Sundays. Oh and some dont realise but they make an epic wedding venue as well as handfasting plus the barn can be hired for your own event A brilliant pub! We had a two night stay and enjoyed every minute. The room was cosy, comfortable and warm with a view of the hills. The food was great, made with quality ingredients and large portions. Nice selection of different beers too! Staff were very and efficient, the regulars were also very and to chat with. Thoroughly recommended. We were there during a weekend event. It's probably much quieter otherwise. The food was (wonderful chips with our tasty Wiltshire Ham & eggs). A unique setting by the canal. It all felt like it was from another era. An interesting pub with food, staff, and a slightly chaotic air, which reflects the fact it is serving campers, boaters and distance walkers like us. Quirky decor, nice copper lamps and brass taps, amazing outside play area for kids. And, of course, the UFO centre nearby. What more could you want? This is one of those horses for courses sites. It's very new age and has a festival vibe. Staff are and it's a place to meet like minded folk if you're a bit alternative. If you want a club house and kids entertainment, then this isn't for you. Haven't tried the food, so can't rate that. Whacky and exciting in equal measure. venue, beers on tap and dog, family, no-shoe friendly. We’re on the canal, have fun, enjoy and soak in the barge. Haven’t tried the food, but we’ll be back! place by the canal. We turned up on a boat holiday unintentionally at the summer solstice and the place was buzzing. Met some people. Home of crop circles, make sure you the old mill over the river for some interesting shops. laid back vibes. When music on its like a mini festival! Everyone chilled+ friendly. Lenny looks after all the campers very well. Right next to canal. Pub selling food, ales+ ciders. Nice walk along to cafe opposite, with gift shop, Indian antique market + crop circle museum. Lovely pub, tucked away down a lane which you wonder whether it leads anywhere but finally you arrive at this lovely spot right next to the Kennett-Avon canal, where narrow boats used to stop and still do, to take on supplies and enjoy a peaceful lunch. When we found this place there was Ska music playing in the bar but not too loud, and conversations going on about what a night they had had the previous evening. Always an absolute pleasure to The Barge! Camp in Tents, vans, and glamming. Always food at The Barge in the pub and outside stall. Enjoy a pint or two with your mates around a fire pit 🔥 listening to the many stories about crop circles and what’s in the sky! Events, live music or just go for a stroll along the canal. Very owners and Lenny is ace! Clean toilets, showers and washing machines. Close places to - Avebury, The Crop Circle museum, Silbury Hill and so much more. Camped here for the summer solstice. Avebury stones are just 5 miles away. Could do with a few more vegan options on the menu but the Saturday specials was pizza and that had a vegan option. People are lovely and welcoming. Plenty of space to camp. Campfires are allowed and you can rent a firepit and buy logs. Kids lived the playground and made friends with the other kids there. Definitely will return.
