We didn't get food but saw some and it looked great. We stopped here to refresh mid trip, beer was canny and the prices weren't bad. Nice building, outside seating and staff. I'd go back What a find, the food is excellent, again we can recommend the pie. The are and always spot when you need a top up! I tried the specials on both evenings salmon and steak, both excellent. The cask beer is excellent. Nb I asked for mash instead of chips and I’ve eaten two onion rings! Lovely pub with very and helpful staff. There's a great beer garden with a play area for kids. I came on my own for lunch and I couldn't fault the vast choice on the menu, but I can highly recommend the ploughmans! After spending a week on a canal boat and eating several establishments I can honestly say this was the best food by a country mile. Lovely environment and pleasant chatty as well. The sirloin steak was a stunning and cooked to perfection. The whole trout was also amazing. The puddings were generous portions overall had a fantastic evening and reasonably priced. For the main meal tonight, I'm guessing that 19 hours and 14 minutes ago, I had gluten-free sausage, mashed potatoes, spinach, green beans, and onion gravy. For dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding that was to die for! I absolutely loved it. OMG, I was flabbergasted! The service was amazing, the was quite kind, friendly, and very welcoming. The atmosphere was exquisite, and the table was squeaky clean. The cutlery and crockery were very well laid out, and last but not least, it was a little bit quiet, which made it easy to talk to people I didn't know. I totally get that, which makes perfect sense, and that's definitely a good thing. 👍🏻😎 Decided to try somewhere new for Sunday lunch … not being hugely hungry we decided to just have a starter each & a sweet. I had the battered white bait which were delicious although the mayonnaise accompaniment was a little Hot for my taste. My wife had the pear & cheese salad, Also delicious! We saw lots of the customers in the garden enjoying soft ice cream and a chocolate flake so decided to have the same. Unfortunately when we got to the bar to order the machine had broken so soft ice cream was sadly off the menu. I recommend this place for food which you order at the bar and is delivered to your table by very polite staff. Will be back with a bigger appetite soon!! Three of us came in for dinner the fish was delectable, the chicken parmiagno was lovely nice and juicy.
