Park in Maidens, coffee in The Rope Cafe and enjoy a stroll along the sandy beach. It's even possible to take the path up through the woods to Culzean Castle Country Park where there's a lake, childrens playground and another cafe with ice cream! Great day out for a family as well as dog. Seems to be a popular place for dog walking. If you go towards the forest you will find that you are on Culzean Castle estate where you can go to the castle itself. Entry fee to the grounds and castle is payble (not sure how much as didn't go there). Near the bay there is bistro place called The Rope Bistro, food is tasty and staff nice. I belive that on and sunny day the Maidens would be less crowdy than Ayr or Troon and it is still as good as the other two this is dog friendly when we visited it was quiet but plenty of room to stroll along it gives you the fresh air needed and great for all the family you can sit on the banks and just look out to sea A very clean stretch of sandy with stunning views of the Forrest of Culzean Castle Country Park You can walk from Maidens right through to the castle via a set of steps. No recommend if you have mobility issues as there are quite a few steps to get to the top, but worth it if you can make it. Appears to be a dog friendly area as quite a few dog walkers out along the beach Plenty of free parking available as well. We enjoyed our visit a lot Beautiful peaceful wee spot on the Ayrshire Coast between Maybole & Girvan with excellent views of Arran the Ailsa Craig. The weather stayed nice, calm with a decent overnight temperature and the water was cool 👌. Fabulous and place to visit,,,, lots of walking and relaxing can be found here... Just love ❤️ this place, spent most of my childhood here, very tranquil and peaceful, with lovely walk both on and off the beach, plenty of parking and places to eat. Beautiful place but it was quite dirty when we went. Great big expanse of sand, although there are some areas that it warns you to keep away from.. soft sand! Not the best for making sand castles although we tried. Also, when the tide turns it comes in really quickly, so if you have small children with you keep a weathered eye. We are lucky enough to have rented a cottage on the sea front and what a view... Lovely sands and a great place to waste a bit of time and just chill Calm, dog friendly, gorgeous sandy and lovely beach. Best on the west coast The itself is nothing special - lots of amazing beaches in Scotland for eg. Killantringan Bay just an hour South. However the walk along the and through Culzean Estate to the Castle is very nice. Jellyfish everywhere meant dog on lead. Stunning views, clean sands, and dog-friendly! This beach, with free parking, leads to Culzean Castle via steps (challenging for some). Highly recommended! Beautiful little close to culzean castle. Great to park up here walk along the and then the castle grounds.
