Nice , unfortunately in The middle of April the ground works were not quite finished, but still you could see that the staff is working hard to get everything ready for the main season. I'd forgotten how brilliant this place is. Be sure to visit the nuttery. In the centre of Culzean Country Park you'll find this stunning Walled managed by the National Trust for Scotland and it's volunteers. The estate which was previously owned by the Kennedy family used this for (a) production (the North half) to provide basic fruit and vegetables for their home and grand life in the castle and (b) pleasure (the South half) to relax and show their guests the exotic plants from around the world. NTS are using this working to make money such as the fruit for jams in the Home Farm Kitchen. Great place for a peaceful and relaxing picnic especially if you are the green fingered variety! 😁 gardens. Give yourself 4-5 hours to walk around and to go on all the trails. A must see!! Especially in the late spring. Used to be a five star, but needs a bit more TLC and diligent use of resources. Stunning displays even in October. So well developed and neat touched like brown bag sales of peppers, green tomatoes and other surplus fruit and veg. Great place ro visit. Lots to see. are amazing and well looked after. Lots of nice walks through the grounds and along the coast. A good walk out in the park, lots to see even in the winter, peaceful and relaxing Loved this place. The most walled I have ever seen. The “other” Scotland castle are pitiful compared to this place. Just love this historic place. No matter how many times I visit there is always something to enjoy. walled gardens. My family have been coming here for over 60 years and so this always feels like a very special place to visit. Although visiting at any time of year will be serene, I recommend coming during summer to see the colourful flowers out in full bloom. Despite it being a sunny day the were still peaceful and not too busy. Dogs welcome but must be on lead :) 🐶 Lovely area to walk peacefully around. Nice planting of herbaceous plants and interesting conservatory. An interesting place to go for a walk and discover the plants. I would like to see evidence that all the fruit and vegetables grown there are put to good use and not just grown for show. I go to culzean everyday with my dogs and 1 year old. I love walking round it all. Its a day out, come rain or shine Had a great day out. Highly recommend I have been visiting this place for over 40 years,it is a truly a relaxing place, well tended by the staff. Initially thought it was quite expensive, tho on entry had a change of heart, this place is huge and an entire day just isn't long enough to see everything on offer, stunning views and scenery, quiet beach, and walks and the castle itself is beautiful, wildlife, cafes, sitting areas, sea views, would highly recommend visiting if your around the Ayrshire coast A Fantastic day out. Stunning. I could live here, it's that beautiful. So relaxing walking around. flowers and the vegetable gardens, and the fruit are amazing. There are so many different types of trees and plants to look at. The birds and wildlife can be heard and enjoyed all around the garden. You can take a seat on one of the many benches or find a nice spot on the grass to relax for a bit. A must-see when visiting Culzean! garden! It contains a variety of flowers, as well as vegetables that are used in the restaurant on the castle grounds. Very peaceful place to walk through. A garden, so memorised by all the plants. Could be there all day and take it all in place to visit. Plently to see and wander round, If you're really lucky you can purchase produce picked that morning. The peaches were amazing.
