Good food and atmosphere, muscles were fantastic and packed full of flavour. The caramelised onion soup was for us at least to thick and strong. The steak would have been better if it came with peas or at least was available as a side order. Very busy, which is a good sign. I recommend booking a table and, if possible, not at the end of to avoid popular items being unavailable. After another visit I can also recomend the soy squid risotto. The covered area in the garden is lovely and to me a better option during the day than in the main building. The beer garden us also spacious with plenty of bench tables. Our Airbnb host recommended The Ship in Kirby, and we’re so glad we listened! I was craving a Sunday roast, and theirs hit the spot—plenty of meat options, and both the lamb and chicken were absolutely perfect. It’s also a very dog-friendly pub; our pup was given a treat and some water straight away. For dessert, we had the peanut butter cheesecake and custard tart—both were absolutely divine. When we were paying, the owner or manager took the time to chat with us and recommended a walk around the backwaters behind the pub. We followed his directions, and it ended up being the best walk of our whole trip. Really lovely place with great food and genuinely welcoming service. Randomly stopped here after the beach for food and I’m so glad we did! Beautiful pub with outdoor dining, it was so peaceful. The staff were friendly and the food was UNREAL. I had the chorizo and prawn pasta, my partner the burger and we ordered some random picky bits for our toddler and every single bit was so tasty! Would 100% recommend this pub, the partner wants to drive back 2 hours for a roast! We use Walton beach a lot so will defo be our stop for after. Thank you! Our first time at this lovely pub. Both people who had the curry have had an sensitive stomach today. was ok, surprised when the server told us to put the menu’s away ourselves. Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Food, atmosphere and level of are always spot on. I always go for whatever curry is on the menu as they are always lovely although the Sunday roasts are amazing too. right down to the vegetables!
