A fantastic place hidden away in a peaceful location. The building and decor is great, rustic and cosy. The are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food tastes fresh, with quality ingredients and well presented. Visited for lunch today and arrived just before 12pm, the place was already buzzing! Despite how busy it was, the hostess was very helpful and managed to get us a table. Service started off a little slow, but we got our order in and I’m so glad I tried their meat - it came highly recommended and definitely lived up to the praise. Absolutely delicious! Ordering a coffee after our meal was a bit tricky, as it took a while to get the staff's attention and then another wait for it to arrive. That said, all the were friendly and accommodating throughout, and it’s clear the café is popular for a reason. Looking forward to returning, and next time I’ll be sure to try one of the many amazing cakes they had on offer!✨🍰 What a cafe, more restaurant than cafe. Stopped here after Poole Parkrun and they were fully booked in the barn. Not a problem they had a heated t- pee outside. Service was excellent and the food great. About 30 mins wait for the food which was fine. Breakfast was large and delicious, filled with local sausage & bacon, with hash browns and scrambled eggs in a warm lightly toasted wrap. Super hot, which was lovely, and possibly the best I have eaten. My wife had an omelette with mushrooms which she said was hot and equally delicious. Not the cheapest at £28:65 in tea and coffee but well worth it for the quality. So go we will return later this holiday for afternoon tea 😋 Visited today been wanted to go for a while now on the lookout for a place for a group to meet up for a breakfast,. Once seated took 14 minutes to come and take order. Ordered to Large Barn Breakfasts 2x Coffees. 16 minutes later arrived asked for tomato sauce given a small pop for 2 of us to share, 22 minutes after ordering coffees arrived. Not sure what the stuff was on the eggs, but the eggs where cooked 👍. The sausages where what can I say not bacon was very grissely full of fat, beans where cold and Herby, Toast was okay. Now I don't mind spending money on a nice BUT unfortunately today I was disappointed. Staff where pleasent but sorry time scale and food quality wasn't there for me bare in mind we only had the cooked so can't comment on rest of the menu, Then when you need to queue on the way out for 18 minutes to pay isn't great.. We were looking for somewhere for as we were staying locally and found this little gem... Although we missed we had a lunch instead... Service was and our waitress was and brought us a blanket as we sat outside as it was busy we sat outside... little place 👌 Wonderful cafe! Delicious food and drink. and specials board full of yummy food. Warm enough to sit outside too. Lots of seating. Really barn conversion too. Service was lovely. Definite recommend Popped in for lunch on a weekend. were very accomodating with our dog and super friendly. Decent and food presented beautifully, especially for the price! Our only issue was a distinct lack of chicken when we paid extra for it in a Caesar salad. Otherwise, highly recommended. We had a meal. Quite a busy place. ATM, they have a large tipi style structure to provide more inside seating. This was very warm and a nice additional space though the heating itself was a bit noisy. having a wonder around the shops afterwards, though not sure why the farm shop was closed on a Saturday, which was a shame. My daughter gave me a voucher for mothers day, we had a cream tea, the sandwiches where amazing, the scones defiantly the best I have tasted for many years, the cupcakes and chocolate brownies didn't disapoint. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as were the staff. Looking at the amazing food that was coming from the kitchen, we will definitely be visiting again. If you don't want to be disappointed make sure you book, I can imagine it will only get busier as the weather warms up. I been here many times for cake and coffeee…. However I can’t leave a review for food as still waiting after 45 minutes ordered a breakfast! Just arrived, is it worth the wait? Sliced bread and pre cooked poached eggs! Service wasn’t either! Won’t be returning no apology for the wait and cost £30!! What a joy to find an amazing tea including a choice of decaf teas - I had Kenya Decaf. Best of all, a large array of gluten-free cakes and melt in the mouth GF Brownie (Caramel Salted) I've ever had! Wish it was nearer, it would become a regular haunt. Service superb, ambiance quirky with charming use of parasols suspended from the ceiling and little boutique type shops too. way to start my holiday break. Food was reasonably priced, generously portioned, and high quality. Waiting were very friendly. Only reason for giving atmosphere 4 out of 5 is that the doorbell that goes off every time food is ready is very annoying 😂 Amazing food, highly recommend the halloumi or the quiche. Friendly although service was a little slow, however it was busy so to be expected to an extent. value for money on food and drink choices and cosy atmosphere. Recommend a visit for an authentic Dorset countryside experience Very disappointed with my recent visit to the Barn Cafe. Usually The Barn Cafe is our go to location for lunch as a family- previously been excellent value for money and had a wide variety on the menu. On our recent visit on Saturday, they had a new and have reduced the amount of options. I ordered the chicken and the portion was significantly smaller than previously and it was extremely dry! No sauce in the despite stating it would. My partner also had a sandwich which was very bland and could’ve made a nicer sandwich at home. Unfortunately will now not return. and beautiful place. Extremely let down by the experience. Went there for my birthday for (pre-booked table) and was told the kitchen was closed no phone call or pre-warning considering we booked for and made them aware when we booked (2 weeks in advance) no proper apology either or goodwill gesture. Found the extremely rude and acted like they didn’t care just sent us on to the cowshed (other catering business). Would like to go again but don’t think I could after this experience Not a experience today. After quite a wait we placed our order for drinks and food with the waitress. There were four of us dining and just two meals were eventually served to us, although I had ordered a meat quiche, I was served a vegetable and when I queried this with the waitress was told that she would check. It transpired that the two meals weren’t for our table after all although one of my friends had already started eating the roast chicken as this was what he had ordered. After much waiting the other two meals arrived together with the meat quiche. However, the gravy was missing which should have come with the roast chicken. Mayonnaise and tap water were also requested which we had to chase up twice. The meat was over cooked, the chicken in the Caesar salad and roast chicken were tough, the smoked haddock fish cakes were tasteless and the poached egg with the fish cakes was under cooked. All in all a very poor dining experience both food and service wise. The clearly could not cope and/or need more training. It’s such a shame the Barn cafe has gone so down hill as the food used to be exceptional and the service excellent. We were offered complimentary coffees which really weren’t adequate for such poor service. A discount off the bill should have at least been given instead. We hired the shiny new venue, The Little Barn, for a family function last weekend & had the honour of being the first event to be held there. We were blown away with the events space, the service & the food. The Little Barn has been beautifully decorated, the little vases of flowers on the tables were a touch & there was plenty of space for our party of 18. The selection of food from the deluxe buffet was excellent - including the veggie options - all the food tasted amazing & there was plenty of it, value for money. The on the night were wonderful, friendly, nothing was too much trouble & I can honestly say that from start to finish, organising our family event was made all the more easier thanks to Sophie, the events coordinator/organiser. A huge thanks to the team for helping to make a memorable birthday celebration that all the family enjoyed!
