Well second time in 4 weeks and well it was as as it was our first time .bought the kids this time and they eat everything . Pub clean garden clean toilets clean food and taste service is from the team at the pub Classed as a pub but in reality it’s family focused eatery catering for the 3 adjacent park home sites. Food’s okay, service is quite good, menu is varied, offering something for everyone but fine dining it is not. I’d sum it up by saying that it is conveniently located and provides decent grub and a drink for an affordable price. The Clay Pipe inn was buzzing the welcome from all staff was wonderful. We reserved a table because we didn’t want to lose the opportunity to have a wonderful Sunday carvery. We ordered our food at the bar and got straight to it and selected our food. If you nearby get booked and enjoy a wonderful Sunday roast without the washing up. 😋 🍽️🍻 pub, staff, amazing food and not overpriced, even though they have holiday parks near to take advantage of. Didn't have to wait long for food even though busy. Clearly geared up to cope. Will go back again for sure. Amazing 👏 We ate here all week while on holiday and found the food to be consistently and the majority of the staff absolutely brilliant—friendly, efficient, and welcoming. However, our experience on Thursday was noticeably different. The two members of staff working that day—an older lady and gentleman who I believe may be the managers—really let the place down. They were incredibly slow to take drinks orders, taking only two items at a time, entering them, pouring, and then coming back to ask for the next—something that felt unnecessarily drawn out, especially with a modern till system in place. There was also an issue with the food order, which we can accept as mistakes happen. What was disappointing was the way it was handled. Rather than offering a simple apology, the gentleman brought over the till receipt and pointed out that only six starters were listed—as if to shift the blame to us. It came across as defensive and unhelpful, rather than welcoming or solution-focused. If this had been our first experience here, we honestly wouldn’t have returned. It’s a real shame, because the rest of the team throughout the week were fantastic and created a atmosphere. These two could learn a lot from them. Oh, and one slice of bread for your fish and chips…. pub , food staff and landlord and all at a very reasonableprice. We were a party of 9 on holiday and at times it's hard getting a reservation anywhere decent to eat with a dog aswell. The landlord bent over backwards to ensure we were accommodated for at very short notice and we had a lovely meal . Word to the wise the portions are big 😀and i recommend washing it down with a few Doom Bars . Keep up the work guys 🫡👍👍 A lovely run pub visited for dinner while on holiday to the area will definitely return when next in the area. The meals were brilliant value and had an excellent customer service and pub atmosphere.
