Visited restaurant recently as 2x non member couples. Well greeted by pleasant staff. There was a wedding on in the function room and spill over to main bar was busy and loud. Restaurant lovely and bright and not too noisy. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Served quickly. Plentiful helping. And very tasty. Great links course, and the closest to Belfast. Come and visit if you are coming for the open. The course was in fantastic condition, greens are fast but consistent, a cracking course, a real test as narrow in places. I would highly recommend this course. It's in a great location on the Ards Peninsula. I've played this course countless times over past 30 years, when the wind is up, its a great test of golf. Wonderful gem of a links course in County Ulster. Plays around, on and from two large Beren mounds. Short walks from greens to tee boxes. Fast fairways and greens, sand traps in good condition, tough but fair. Views of castles, countryside and Irish sea. Great folks in pro shop and clubhouse. It was worth the drive from Newcastle. Take the ferry, particularly if the weathers reasonable. Perfect conditions and well maintained course nothing but praise for green staff and house staff. I attended this golf club today - 24/11/22. The condition of the course was superb greens excellent considering the rain that fell a few hours before. Re food and drink I totally recommend. Staff are fantastic, polite and attentive. Not only deserves a visit for their food. Worth the trip 👍👏👏👏👏 Had the pleasure of playing Kirkistown recently with some friends. A helpful reception from the pro. Lovely traditional links and a tough test, kept in good condition by the greenkeepers and the team of volunteer members who were working away on the bunkers when we were there. They didn’t make the bunkers any easier to get out of though! Tasty food in the bar afterwards and great service. Altogether a very welcoming club. Great track. Really enjoyed the round.
