The spiaggia libera is very small and occupied by umbrellas which is unfortunate Even though we go to Gaeta regularly, we've never really been to Serapo beach, however, this year we tried a couple of lidos on this stretch and we were impressed with the setup. We visited Aurora twice And will be using this place again in the summer. The setup was good, there was plenty for the children to do, the sand and the stretch of was nice and clean and not too chaotic. Pre-bookings are possible, car park on the grounds is available and the bar service is adequate for what you need. Need food, drinks and ice cream are all available. Extremely crowded beach, also very commercialized. The entire front is consumed by clubs that demand you pay to enter the front even if you aren’t using their facilities. If you long to rent a chair and umbrella, you best have at least 30-40 euro in your pocket to be able to stay just a couple hours. The water is fair , but the chairs and umbrellas are right on top of one another and most people smoke cigarettes or weed so be prepared for misery if you’re a nonsmoker. If you're not the type of tourist who can handle being packed in like sardines, this place isn't for you. Almost the entire is owned by private hotels, and the remaining small spots are crowded with locals. Even these public sections of the are managed by vendors who offer sunbeds for €30/day. You won't find public showers on the beach, and everything comes with a hefty price tag. On the other hand, the is really clean, and the water is crystal clear. Simply beautiful Sadly almost everything is private, it was extremely crowded and you could not see the water at all. I recommend not coming here in august. My friend and me were here for a day and I have never felt so unwelcome. There were only Italien tourists. We were really friendly and not loud at all, but everyone was looking at us with judging faces. I saw the reviews and was really exited but Gaeta really disappointed me. The only nice people were really old ones in small stores. I would recommend going Somewhere else if you are a foreigner in Rome and want to go to a beach.
