The Falconry is located round the back of Wem in the countryside where they have a fine selection of birds.They do a lot of private showings where an appointment has to be made.They do talks to schools,garden centres and bird lovers from around the country. Went here for the owl and it was fantastic, both Steve and Lisa were superb sharing their passion and knowledge for the birds. Sonic was a superstar!!! Five star afternoon out !!! We had a fabulous time having an Owl Experience. We were able to see up close and have land on our arms, a wide range of beautiful owls. It was brilliant. If you're thinking of going, we'd getting your tickets in advance as there are lots of deals available (depending on where you book the experience) We had a fantastic hawk for my wife's 50th birthday. Steve was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his work, and has a deep understanding of the birds' personalities and behaviors, and was always happy to share his knowledge with us. Will and Karl were the two Harris Hawks that flew with us on the walk, not only were they majestic and beautiful of prey, but each had their own quirky personality. A fantastic morning and we would highly a visit to anyone. Thank you Steve. Received a 1-1 photography as a gift. From the start Lisa and Steve were fantastic, asking what I wanted to get out of my time with them and if there were any particular I wanted to photograph. The selection of they have in their care is spectacular! I was fortunate enough to meet some incredible and handled by two talented falconers who knew how to handle each to their best potential. I came away not bothered if I had any good pictures as I'd enjoyed my time so much I was satisfied just being there. My was personal, relaxed and well delivered. Would highly to anyone considering! Had an extremely enjoyable day on Jessops "Bird of Photography Experience". Great photography opportunities with loads of tips and education about the birds. Well looked after by Steve and Lisa at the Falconry Centre, and Sean and Lee from Jessops. The brought as a gift and would highly it. Highly 👏 Had the most incredible owl led by Steve. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and calm. We saw six different up close, held them all and even flew the small ones in the barn. Harry, Carl and Esre were the three Harris Hawks that flew with us on the walk, not only were they majestic and beautiful of prey, but each had their own quirky personality. Just came back from our morning Hawk which was really great. Lisa is so knowledgeable and passionate about the birds. It certainly doesn't seem like it's a job for her, more like you couldn't stop her flying these awesome creatures if you tried! Ivan (Harris Hawk) started off the adventure, but also fancied a chilled out day following along rather than swooping for prey. However then out came Carl! He never took his hawk eyes off us and flew beautifully with us landing on our gloves whenever a bit of food was offered up. Fabulous bird and an all round memorable experience. I had the pleasure of doing a fabulous workshop with Jonny Mo through Photosoup at Shropshire Falconry a couple of weeks ago. Shropshire Falconry is a fantastic destination for anyone interested in of prey, and a large part of that is thanks to the dedicated staff. Lisa and Steve are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their work. They have a deep understanding of the birds' personalities and behaviors, and they are always happy to share their knowledge with visitors. One of the best parts about Shropshire Falconry is the opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of birds, and it's also a great place for photography enthusiasts. You can capture stunning close-up shots of these majestic creatures. The staff were so happy to provide us with tips and tricks for capturing the best possible photos of the birds. Up close we saw baby barn owls, a tawny owl, red kite, white faced owl, kestrel, burrowing owlets. Then we had a chance to try to capture some in flight, Indian rock owl and two hybrid of that were so fast, they really tested our skills! We even had an amazing holding Islay the Golden Eagle. Shropshire Falconry is not open to the public, so when you book you know who’s going to be there. Lisa and Steve were happy to answer questions about the birds. We are still thrilled by it, and Santéo (6yr old) is especially excited—he has so much to share with his primary school friends when he returns. My partner and I truly appreciate the time you took to share your extensive knowledge with us and for being so welcoming throughout the session. From our arrival to the end of our session, we really enjoyed every moment. I was particularly struck by the size and weight of these magnificent birds. The Golden Eagle, in particular, was the most intimidating to behold. Learning about its fierce hunting nature and powerful eyesight really underscored just how these rule the wild. Wanted to book a 1:1 photography as a gift for a family member, as after visiting website, thought would be perfect. Business page asked that we email to book or make enquiries. Emailed twice and called once over period of 10 to 14 working days. However, recieved no acknowledgement or reply. I fully understand businesses like this can get busy, but based on this customer service, I would not and am booking elsewhere. We booked in advance and spent half a day with various birds. We did a through some nearby woodland with three free flying Harris Hawks, it was amazing to see them behaving so naturally and good to understand how much the falconers knew about the behaviour and what they were likely to do next. Then back at the base we fed some baby (it was springtime) they were about the size of a tea mug and hopped around the table without a care. Cute isn’t a strong enough word to describe them. We were lucky to have a Golden Eagle sit on our fists, surprisingly heavy. The highlight for me was swinging the lure for the free flying Peregrine Falcon, her speed and agility were very impressive. An excellent few hours which really made me appreciate these wonderful animals and all the work and dedication that goes into understanding what they need. Shropshire Falconry brought two beautiful to our wedding, a barn owl and a white faced South African owl. They were beautiful and so well behaved (as well as the barn owl Fleur performing perfectly as our ring bearer!) and a big hit with our guests. Steve and Lisa were wonderful and informed us all about the 🥰. Couldn’t enough for your big day. We visited with our friends from Kenya, our 2 4 year olds loved it. They were able to put the gloves on and the wonder of having various different flying to their hands. For the adults the best bit was going outside and experiencing Viper (a peregrine cross) flying between us at incredible speed and precision. I personally have come away wanting to get into falconry and I look forward to welcoming Steve to my farm for a hawk and I have a lot of interest from friends wanting to get involved. The only downside for me was having a broken arm I couldn’t get involved. Steve is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and this is well worth a visit for all ages. Experienced the Hawk for the first time today - it really was an amazing (even in the cold!) and Lisa (professional falconer) was great, very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate. We learned a lot about the and it was great to be able to see them up close. Having the hawks follow us along as we walked through the forest, and watching them fly towards us and land on our hands when there was a piece of food, was so worth it ❤️ Not something you everyday! We met Ivan, Carl and Ben (the 3 Harris Hawks). Carl definitely stole the show, he was so lovely, very well behaved, engaged and responsive.
