Strathaven, United Kingdom Park

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. George Allan and Strathaven were hard to differentiate. The whole area is just a very beautiful place to relax in. It has many amazing features. I believe it was voted 8th most beautiful in UK. It also boasts the oldest miniature working Railway in the UK which recently celebrated 75 years in existence. Kids love it and there were more than a few big kids on it too with protruding knees.😂 There is a small pond with pedal boats, a victorian style bandstand and the delightful Barrie Shelter Cafeteria which may or may not at one time been an old scout hall🤔 The Cafeteria has a great selection of Main courses, sanwiches and toasties as well as, cakes, pastries tea and coffee. A 30 min drive out of Glasgow through many of East Kilbride's magic roundabouts and you are there. Historic Strathaven conservation town is only minutes away from the park. A really great day out. Like stepping into the 1950s or 60s. life as it used to be. A boating pond a ride along steam train all set in lovely maintained parkland The is looking so beautiful, a big thank you to everyone who works there and cares for it. It's part of my daily walk and great to see the community enjoying it so much. Lots to entertain the wee ones and a great cafe. The birdlife is thriving too which is lovely to see. Get the bus from Glasgow buchan street bus stn. To Hamilton then to Strathaven. Passed by to stop for a break on a cycle. Brilliant place which, for us oldies, took us back decades to much more urban parks where boats were for hire ... long since stopped. The little steam railway looked great fun. The cafe was full of good dishes and very well organised. Great for anyone but especially younger kids. Always beautiful, no matter what time of year 🥰 Lovely with oldest miniature railway in Scotland..only £1 fare...our Grandson loved it. Park with swings bouncy castle. And pond. Lovely cafe too. Brilliant..x Great wee with lots to see especially for very young children. Our puppy loved it as there were loads of friendly dogs for him to meet. There was a cafe but it was closed when we visited on a Sunday. Would definitly go back for another visit. Excellent park. Lots to do but parking could better Lovely clean park. The miniature railway is fabulous and the staff who run it are full of fun and information. Great for kids and the cafe was also very good and keenly priced Great day out with little ones bouncy castle, pedal boats, train ride and more kids had a ball.Well worth a visit. I am a member of Strathaven miniature railway so I am there most weekends.
