We had an incredible with Jimmy Toye, our guide, as he shared his first hand experiences in the Bogside during the Troubles and on Bloody Sunday. Hearing his story was moving and we were honored to meet him. Jimmy brought unique insights and a balanced perspective. Thank you Jimmy. 🙏🏻 The was amazing, Macrea was great. The was both fascinating and sad but very informative. Macrea explained the effect the troubles had on the people of Derry back then and still to this day. I would definitely recommend this tour. Very highly recommended. It is hard to adequately describe our of Derry with Paul. He is knowledgeable, entertaining, insightful and a living link to some of Derry’s often difficult history. We did a second trip to the coast with him and we felt like we were with a friend. I have been traveling to Ireland for over fifty years and the tours with Paul were among the very best. Walking the streets that experienced such bloodshed, narrated by someone who was in the fight, really makes for an impactful tour! This is what we experienced with Jimmy Toye as our guide. His vivid recollection was further brought to life as he showed pictures of what the streets had looked like, and put names to faces on the "Innocent" wall. Many thanks to you, Jimmy, for teaching us despite the pain it brings as you relive the loss and fear over again. Thought this would give us a deeper understanding of The Troubles as we had just come from Belfast. They have their own side of the story. Jimmy Toye lead our lesson (much more than a tour) with all the knowledge and resilience of a survivor which he is. Our time with Jimmy was sad and respectful of those so deeply impacted. I think the memories from this experience will stay with me for a long time. Thanks, Jimmy, for sharing your story with us. This is the only to take in Derry. Paul is a fantastic guy and his knowledge and passion for the of Derry was unreal. His personal story brings it even more to life. Loved every minute of it and a great character to go with it. 5 stars ! Great with Jimmy. Our train ran late but he was very understanding and still gave us the full tour. Answered all my questions and was extremely informative. Would recommend to anyone who wants an authentic, first-hand account of the in Derry and The Troubles. I highly recommend this tour. it is deeply informative, moving, and offers one of the most authentic insights into life in the Bogside and the tragic events of Bloody Sunday. We had Jimmy as our guide and were very grateful to have been able to hear his first hand accounts. Thank you Jimmy for sharing your story with us. It can’t be easy to relive those memories and we are so grateful that you were willing to share. We will never forget your tour. We will be following along with the trial in Canada and hope that long overdue justice will be served to the victims and their families I had my a few days ago with John Burke. It was very informative and educational and John was as passionate and knowledgeable about the subject as I was to listen and engage, so very much so. I had a lot of questions so we covered a lot in the time. It was personal as John's sister had been injured in the Bloody Sunday attack and that gave an added dimension as John had and shared his unique insight from close experience, gained personally. I am very interested in this and feel that this has helped consolidate what I knew but also given me a much better insight and empathy. I definitely recommend this and the guide John Burke. We had an absolutely fantastic walking of the Bogside, Derry with Jimmy Toye. He was the best guide I have ever known. He put so much into the and the fact that he was present at the 1972 protest on Bloody Sunday made his so much more meaningful. A really lovely man. Everyone on the hung on to his every word.
