We visited here on 15th December. Me, my husband, our 2 daughters (aged 13 and 6) and my mom. We travelled from Birmingham so was around 1 hour 45 mins journey. I was really excited for this as it's something that had been on my to do list for a while but I've got to say, I was a bit disappointed and I think I'd set my expectations too high. Firstly, we queued for quite a while just to get in. The queue did not move quickly and they only had 1 ticket box open. The walk to the was nice but would definitely look better in the dark with all the lights. The prices here were very expensive! £3 for 1 Marshmallow! £6 for 1 slice of pizza. £6 for donuts. I'm really not tight and understand that prices will be higher at these type of places but with a lot of the attractions being extra money, it works out as an expensive couple of hours out. There wasn't as many fair as I thought there would be. The virtual sleigh ride was £6 each (which we did as our daughters wanted to do it). The polar express train ride was also an extra cost. We also found that there wasn't much to do whilst waiting around for our slot. There were positives: The post office to send a letter was lovely. There was shows and dancing to get everyone in the festive spirit. The was the best I've seen! He was really engaging and was with both my girls. There were lots of lovely photo opportunities. I'm glad we did it, however, I wouldn't do it again. I was a little bit disappointed, I was expected for more attractions, the price for food and other activities are too high. £6.00 for a plastic bubble -crafting room They are advising that the full trail and all activities are taking 2h, but we finished in maxim 1 h with 2 elves shows and eating. The best one was the elves show, the were very captured and the of course. Absolutely amazing for the whole family. Staff were friendly, excitable and interactive especially with the children. The displays were extremely well designed from the village to the lights (which blew our mind). My daughter and brother had such a time, as did us two adults. Highly recommend, thank you for a fun festive to get in the Christmas spirit! (Also extremely Covid friendly which is in today’s climate). Really good for the kids, they loved it, parking was a bit of a pain and the road leading up to the entrance was like a council road with pot holes galore, some people ended up having punchers due to the pot holes, I bottomed out my car on a few holes too. We travelled about 1 hour and 40 mins here which I think was a bit too far. I think how the place it decorated is absolutely beautiful from the moment you walk in to leaving. I liked the talk about the reindeer. They had 3 that were free and a little show they put on. But they also had other bits that you had to pay more for which some of it I felt like it should have been free. Like childrens glitter tattoos. Glitter doesn't cost much they should have all been able to have one each. Then you could pay more to make a bauble which you basically fill with feathers and things, to me that should have been included in the price. You could also pay more for the tractor ride which we did and was nice to see the hologram over the lake but again I think should be free with a ticket to go on once they even charged me for a baby which to sit on my knee I thought was a joke he's 8 months old. The food and drink was really expensive £6 for a slice of pizza £5 for a small hot chocolate with a tiny bit of cream and 1 marshmallow. Seeing was nice they had done it up nicely although I felt rushed seeing him. They got a cute teddy then they take your photo and charge you £7.50 to buy. Once you have seen you can't go back in. When you pay alot to go in for a then they have all the extras it turned into an expensive two hours. I'm glad I've been but I wouldn't return. If you go where wellies it's fair muddy. I kept seeing that if the weather is really bad they cancel it which when we went was windy and cold but glad it was still on as was 3 days before Christmas and would have been too late to go some where else. Very organised, staff very full of joy and to see the surprise on the young faces as they go around Cold but Amazing and we had a mobility scooter with us and was able to go all over Please do not be put off by reviews to go like we nearly did! We had a lovely time, really enjoyed it! It all depends on expectations, if you’re expecting Disney on ice £3000 trip , then please don’t go lol! It was perfect and plenty for us to do, we did everything in around 3 hours which was plenty! Santa looked like the real deal! The reindeer’s all looked healthy and really loved! The paths were really well maintained especially the effort made with the metal plates for the car park so it was not muddy was great! A lot of planning and thought that costs a lot of money has gone into this event that people don’t see! The elves and staff were all super friendly and with the children! Kids really loved the elf band! Rock on guys🎸 Yes food can be pricey, but isn’t it always at food vans, so was already expected! your paying for convenience! We went to a near by restaurant afterwards for food so wasn’t an issue for us! I highly recommend the trip if you’re not a spoilt person! Lovely way to get in the Christmas Spirit! Five stars from us, well done all involved 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I've been trying to speak to Lodge for some now about our visit in December but despite calling and emailing, they're impossible to get hold of. As a mum of a 10 year old (and a 7 year old) I've a fair few Christmas experiences and this is by far the worst. - Massively overpriced (£3 for ONE marshmallow to toast, and £18 for 2 hot chocolates and a brownie, £3 to decorate a bauble) - Santa's beard was hanging off his top lip and he had very little to say to the children. - The lights trail was no more than a 10 minute wander, at a snails pace. - The land train was actually a tractor with painted MDF to make it look abit train like. You pay £3.50 for the pleasure of riding through a car park, down the hill, through a junk yard, then up the hill. - 3 rides, one which was suitable for little ones, and two for big ones. So not really a 'funfair' as they advertised. - No advertised times for the 'shows' so despite hanging around in the elf village (with bored children) we didn't see one. And all for the grand total of over £122 for 3 of us. Plus the additional £80 we spent on the day ensuring the got to do everything. My granddaughter aged 9 really enjoyed the at Lodge even though she only went on one of the fairground rides. Some of the are included, but some are charged extra. On the plus side, the scenery, costumes, etc. were of good quality, the elves were very friendly and most entertaining, the short live show was OK and there was plenty of food and drink to choose from.Because of the allocated slots, there were hardly any queues even though it was very busy. The were lovely to see close up ,but you aren't allowed to touch or interact. The place is very hilly, so it's not suitable for everyone. The visit to was fairly brief but good. Parking was well controlled and close. Excellent for little I did enjoy it, although I did think it would have been a longer trail, and then became limited to what to do before waiting for santa. Got the train, I was actually really disappointed 😞 was fab, although the que was a tad silly. Panto was fab. The dancers were but were just a few things, but overall, it was a nice day out Wonderful magical experience. The best I have ever met. We came to the lodge last Friday on the launch night, on the way it was raining none stop and we was thinking it was going to ruin the whole experience, but I can honestly say it didn’t one bit the didn’t stop smiling from start to finish it has everything for everyone age just enough rides, so many attractions the food was just unreal the chocolate donuts and hot chocolate were just the best it’s 100% the best place we have visited for festive cheer! The was fantastic and seeing real reindeers was just magical! I think is going to be our new tradition. Magical! We were really unsure to even go after reading the reviews as it’s an hour away from us but we are so glad we did. An amazing effort and by all, included. Staff are all brilliant. Food was lovely, pricing to be expected anywhere like this! Not sure what everyone is complaining about we had the best and we will definitely be returning Wow, what an unforgettable evening! As a of 9 (4 adults and 5 children), this was our very first Christmas at the Lodge, and it completely exceeded all our expectations. It was so magical and special that I felt compelled to write a review. From start to finish, everything was simply incredible. The decorations, the mesmerizing light displays, and the amazing holograms were all beyond anything I could have imagined. Every single member of staff, from the ride attendants to himself, was absolutely fantastic. Their warm and engaging interactions with the made the evening even more magical. A special shoutout to Floss the Elf, who truly went above and beyond. She brought so much joy and energy to every child she met, but she made my little girl’s night (if not her whole year) with her dancing, hilarious jokes, and the most heartwarming compliments. Floss is an absolute gem—her energy and enthusiasm are unmatched! In fact, my daughter was left heartbroken—not because of anything negative, but because we had to leave after three wonderful hours. She would have done anything for just five more minutes to dance with Floss! Floss, along with the rest of the amazing team, made this an we’ll cherish forever. We can’t wait to return next year—and for many years to come. Thank you all at the Lodge for making this such a magical and memorable experience! My and I attended the lodge last week, it was amazing! The grounds are stunning, staff are very friendly, is the ‘real deal’. The elves are interactive with the and the fair ground were so much fun. The show was really good and my loved it. Seeing the was very special too! Would definitely recommend! We lost 30 minutes due to the queue to get into the car park. We lost 30 minutes queueing for the VR sets which all broke by the we reached the front of the queue, even with this lost we still barely filled the remaining time. Overpriced and underwhelming Another amazing event. Thank you so much 🧑🎄💕🧑🎄This is the second year that we’ve visited. It’s excellent and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful. The event was very much disability friendly and a bilingual event. Some of the elf’s spoke Welsh . Thank you so much much / Diolch . Looking forward already to the village 2025 🧑🎄 We had the most magical here. The lights were incredible and the show on the water really was breathtaking. There was plenty to do and see and it was really good value for money. The and visiting were included in the admission price. There was plenty of lights and displays to see. The stage shows were very entertaining. We will definitely be returning. It really got our whole in the Christmas spirit. aged 7 and 4.
