Absolutely fantastic visit to The Kings Head. Greeted by exceptionally staff, seated at our reserved table which was prepped perfectly. A very warm and welcome vibe throughout the venue. The menu is fantastic, something for everyone and different to the typical pub menus you get. Service was quick and efficient and let me tell you the food was incredible! There were 7 of us and we all had something different, every single one of us commented how great the meals were. The puddings were unbelievable and really tasty! The pricing is absolutely spot on, reasonable enough that you can enjoy a family on any budget. Can’t wait to return! helpful staff, delicious food and a classic pub atmosphere. Very easy to book a table for larger groups. We will definitely be returning 😊 early birthday evening at Kings Head Waltham. It was very with Halloween 🎃 parties and there was a free quiz later on with prizes.Cocktails on offer too. Lively atmosphere and friendly. A 50 minute wait for three very simple meals and when they arrived at five minute intervals, a burger was on the verge of being inedible. We ate here in the summer and it was great unfortunately it's not only gone downhill but it's digging a hole. A reply to the business, yes we were given a free round of ( cokes) but to say it was a night and a trainee chef, very poor of you to blame a trainee and a night did you correctly? When a customer complains , think about the comments and put something in place so it doesn't happen again. If you don't listen you don't learn. We regularly eat here since Jordan took over and it's quickly becoming our go to over the Coachy. Yes the food isn't quite to the same standard but that's reflected in the price and we always have a meal. Prices are fab and there are often deals on if you use the app. The place has recently been refurbished making it a place for a out or a drink. The girl who served us at the bar was awful. Couldn't remember our order and no idea what house white wine was. The food was and sizzling hot as expected. Pub was noisy and over decorated with a Mish mash of Christmas and Halloween. Don't think we will be going back. Afternoon out today with my sister. The Sweet chilli chicken was amazing. My sister had the hunters chicken who said it to was yummy. We treated ourselves to 2 chocolate fudge cakes for dessert and OMG THEY WERE AMAZING. Our waitress was Denise and nothing was too much trouble for her. In fact she recommend the dessert, great choice. We will definitely return. Couldn't be more impressed with this pub, I suffer with a peanut allergy and they are extremely helpful and welcoming. When we arrived there were signs around stating a reduced menu due to lack of - bear in mind it's a weekend, a bank holiday weekend, so should be a lot more prepared. Ordered the food, 3 out of 4 had their first choice, however one member of the party had 4 choices declined and eventually settled on the 5th choice. Perhaps it would have been helpful to inform customers of what exactly was and wasn't available from the beginning. A small wait for the meals to come out, and one had to be returned due to a long hair sticking out from the middle of one of the burgers. The was sent back and obviously had to wait for a new one to be made. The waiter offered us a round of for free. We declined at that moment as we still had fairly full drinks. He came to bring the out and offered a round of free again as an apology so we accepted and just asked for the same as before. He agreed and went away. He came back with no and said he couldn't now offer a full round and only offer one drink. An absolute shambles of a place. Definitely will not be back. Excellent from the both at the bar and in the restaurant. We had a steak and a Greek burger both were very and arrived pipping hot. Will definitely be visiting again. Really so welcoming and smiley even though it was quite and they clearly need someone else, recently had a paint job and it looks good. The food was tasty and came out in time the steak with cooked perfectly After asking where our order was after half an hour we were told we were next to come out. It came out after a further 20 minute wait, and then it was very poor. The sizzling plate was burnt and the burger was basic despite being one of the ‘special’ burgers. We were offered a free coke each as way of apology and to be fair the waitress was extremely apologetic but after waiting so long, and then to get get poor food, it couldn’t make up for how disappointed we were. I did also think it was unfair to blame a trainee chef and to say that the pub was (it wasnt at 4pm when we arrived), for the bad service. We wouldn’t recommend and will try one of the other local sizzling pubs next time. We went to the Kings Head for a family celebration this weekend. It was a large booking of 16 people and the and food were amazing. Everybody enjoyed their meals, and the two members who served us were very and helpful, we will definitely visit again soon. I came two weeks ago and ordered a sizzling crispy sweet chilli chicken and it was lovely. Freshly prepared sizzling on a plate Crispy and succulent. Today however it was served cold, dry and tough. It tasted as if it was cooked the day before and then reheated. I sent it back and got the same one few minutes later after it’s been warmed up but it still tasted as a something leftover from the day before. We waited 40 minutes for the too. We had a family with 5 adults. We booked because we had been unable to get a table the last two times that we turned up without a booking as it had been busy. The food was plentiful, tasty and enjoyed by all. Quick, and desserts added to the experience. I had the vegan ribs. One of the most satisfying pub meals I have ever had. Will definitely be selecting that from the menu again!
