Nice place for hiking and running and just being outdoors. There are a couple of huge mining elevator thing that look pretty foreboding. There's not actually much to see or buy in the visitor center, though it is a very clean and nice building. Outstanding area. Great for walking. Great play area for kids. Toilets clean. Super friendly young guy at the counter who helped us out for hiking routes. Which are actually very clearly marked. We arrived with the idea to rent bikes but they were all reserved, so reservation for bikes is the best option. We did the red route on a hike, spent 2h30min walking. Decent fitness is required. Not busy at all mid October. After a long time, the weather was completely clear and we had a beautiful night walk under the moonlight. Nice place for a walk peaceful and full of birds in the right season. Also quite beautiful the walking bridge across the lake. I will suggest def garbage bins more and maybe a couple of water sources for drinking along the way. That’s going to be for me a 5 stars walking nature path. We were camping at the pole camping next to visitor centre. The key for the slower and toilet block broke bc it was very flimsy. That meant we had no access to showers, toilet or electricity from the early evening until 10am the next day. We paid the 15 euros per person per night only to have a shower and toilet. I asked for a small discount but got told that it wasn’t their fault. Abit frustrating. One of our family’s fave spots to have a walk.
