Great and amazing view of Bettnerhorn and Aletschgletscher What a wonderful experience to be up there and see this amazing glacier. Aletsch mpb and I took the gondola up to Bettmerhorn on a cold, wet, and windy day. We were practically the only ones up there, apart from a small class of teenagers who were in the restaurant. Hard to see the view due to the fog but still incredible to be up there in the elements. Gondola was felt expensive, I believe 44 CHF for both, return, but worth it in this weather to prevent what would have been a miserable climb. Incredible views of the aletsch and the high peaks of the Bernese Alps, as well as either high peaks in every direction. Probably one of the best viewpoints of the glacier. The Bettmerhorn is a beautiful spot where you can see a great distance, especially when the weather permits it. If you have time, you can sit in the restaurant and enjoy the view from either within or outside. I find it always quite humbling seeing these majestic mountains... Will definitely go again! Quie a few Hiking trails available and staying in one of the nearby village would be fun Location offered easy access to various activities. Although we only enjoed walking around the observation deck, many people were hiking trails around. There were trails directly to the glasier and down the mountain. Most trails had white-red-white level, which is expert level. Hicking attire and assesories are highly recommended. This place was magical, we went on a Saturday but it wasn’t that crowded of people that visit but just lots of skier. The ticket for the top (the glacier) was 49.- for each person. Overall the experience was great even if you don’t want to reach the summit, the city is still really nice. The joy already starts when you take the cable car up to the berg station.
