The building has an impressive architecture and interior design, very elegant. The displays are : wax museum with relevant personalities for the area, history museum plus the actual Chambers with specific objects. The ticket is 10 lei, cheap. They lose 2 stars for the horrible hunting exhibition by some modern grof who kills animals for pleasure and then makes trophies, chairs and tables out of them, that is cruel and useless and should not be supported by the institution. This knight-style newly renovated castel it's a must visit destination ! The guid will take you on a tour trough the well kept rooms from where you can take a deep breath of history. Take you time a d enjoy. Must say the last part, all the killed and stuffed animals from Africa are not a good sight. Skiped this part, can't see snd don't support this kind of cruelty. Take a good walk in the english park. Castle entry fee: 10 Ron, 6 ron (in group) Park: free The Karoly is an impressive architectural building. The ticket price per adult is 10 ron. There is also a guide which would take you through the museum and tell you the history of it for 30 ron. The has countless rooms, almost all of them are opened for visitors. You can observe the architecture compared to that particular time, you can find tools and paperwork used at that time, mostly historical things. I was pleasantly surprised and amazed by the african stuffed animals, eapecially by the elephant head on the wall. I never realized an elephant could grow so big, it was humongous. What I did not like was the fact that we reached the end of rooms with an exit sign that was sending us the other way around while the entrace sign was the other way around too. The staff came to tell us that the exit is actually at the entrace and followed us all along the way, we felt supervised and we did not like it. There is a big park that surrounds the castle, if you have plenty of time, I recommend having a walk and see the other old buildings around and the trees that look twisted. place but so dark nowadays. I guess electricity is to expensive. The cashier and "security guy" were very unwelcoming, kind of ruined our visit from the beginning. However, place to visit but 20 lei I think is way to much for what they are offering. A very large mansion, very well preserved, with great art & hunting collection. Surrounded by a garden in the middle of town! We did a short stop here and enjoyed this castle. Entrance is free. You only have to pay if you want to visit the expo inside Great exhibitions - historical apartments, folklore, wax figures, African trophies among others. Well renovated building with kind staff, and a café. Well worth the visit! Very place , perfect for a family trip. Animal exhibition and wax figures, you can buy some souvenirs and drink a coffee. Very place to rest, kitchen is available, wifi, parking. All is perfect. See you next time Aleks from Poland It was being there but the problem is we had to wait more than 10 minutes to enter The really deserves a lot if you are around there, specially if you are interested in the history of Karoly family, of Hungary and Transylvania-Erdely, and if you are fascinated by castles. The price to enter is very honest. The is well preserved. It hosts art collections, a ancient library, ancient furnitures. Unfortunately the reason why I give 2 stars is that it sadly hosts also, in three rooms, a wide shamous collection of African elephants, white rhynos, lions and other wild animals hunted by some parvenus who use the as a showroom for their enormous egoes, without anything to do with the castle, just a proditorious occupation of an historical place, misused in order to exhibit the poor preys of their safaris...we would "forgive" it if it was a collection of a century ago from some Karoly but it is unacceptable to see in an historical museum a collection of elephants and rhynos in serious danger of extinction hunted in these years, in a world already so impacted, hunted by some parvenus thinking to be an aristocratic hunter of centuries ago, unable to give better noble examples than wasting and showing this way their millions.
