Keine Parkplätze, enge Straßen , keine Wegweiser… Schade drum…! I’m just a history geek so giving 5 star rating seems appropriate 😁 on this site you can see few historically important objects; church of 5 virgins (named after virgins taken shelter in the nearby from the romans - google it, fun stuff), within rocks all the way through the roads length, remains of the old city… Interesting thing is that there is a theory that greek hero Agamemnon fine ancient Lappa. If you visited nearby springs and got a break in one of the fabulous restaurants you should check this place! Nice place for a stroll. At the bottom of the valley you can hide from the warmth. You can find necropolis near the old church. Along the way at the huge, old plane tree you can find a table and a bench to have some rest. You cannot ride here with a baby stroller unfortunately as the rode is rocky. Such a sad story behind this place. It’s worth a and it does make you think. Please be careful the walkway down is very rocky and can be challenging please see photos Cheers DR Leider ist die Parksituation nicht sehr gut. A short down cobbled into a valley leads you to this hidden gem. Do not drive down that road. Park on the main and down or you WILL get stuck. The roadside is dotted with carved and you’ll find a little church and lots of interesting little places to explore. It’s small and shady but it’s still hot in the summer so be prepared with water and a hat. Recommended for a little trip out to see some interesting history. Read up before you so you know the history. A site worth visiting, the classical ancient past meets with the Christian medieval one in a wonderful creek, full of sycamores and cave like graves. The visitor has to advise his map quite often, whereas the signs are poor or damaged. One can find an ottoman spring in the centre of the graveyard. The nearby village of Argyroupoli shall be visited too, because it was the ancient city that this graveyard belonged. Ancient mosaics can be easily found there. Impresionante lugar, precioso paraje, ermita bizantina muy auténtica. Paseo entre inmensos árboles, con un camino de piedra fantástico. Muy recomendable Sind Grabstätten. Wenn mans interessant findet. Nice and silent place to go not so much people we were literally alone when we went there. No entrance fee and just 5 to 10min from the road. Total serenity is found here! Enjoy it. My go to secret place im Crete! Ps make sure you asl a human for the way as its not the marked route. Must be seen. Very nice, the place gives you a certain feeling. The location and nature is great. Fairly quiet during our visit. An incredibly beautiful old tree. This one must be very old. It's a really cool place where you can see ancient graves that were carved inside the rocks. It's for free so no waiting time to be expected. Parking is limited, though and there is a bit of a to the actual cemetery. It's doable in Birkenstocks but I'd recommend closed shoes. Small church building and stone craved tombs. Accessed by a badly maintained which you need to down . Not really worth a If you are visiting Argiroupoli, this place is a must visit! It's free to and a very nice walk. The ancient Roman are very interesting, but unfortunately there is no information provided at the location. If you want to read about this site there's information available on the main village square on one of the buildings. There's some historical information about the place and some excavations insight (what was found etc.). Make sure you have time to further down the gorge path after the tombs, it's very beautiful! Took a drive to the mountains mainly to see Argiroupolis and dropped here. Parking is a bit of a problem however it doesn't seem like many people come here. In Fact we only saw 4 people the time we were here. I wouldn't drive here just to see this, but it is worth a if you are in the area. From the church to the catacombs it's a place with real history.
