The first parking is 2.5€, but there is free parking if you drive further down the road. We got here early before it got busy. Got a pedalo then chilled for a bit. We saw turtles. Even came back for a second day. To have a swim and enjoy it more. Beautiful place 📍 The itself with clean and in the spectacular surroundings of rugged mountains. We planned a trip for max 1.5 hours, and we stayed for almost the whole day. A mandatory trip by bike in search of turtles. Children also have fun with the ubiquitous geese. There are taverns and free parking near the water. A different day out in Crete. Worth visiting for one day, but avoid the central very touristic bit and head for the edges where there is plenty of space and paddle boats. A note: Avoid swimming / walking in as all the shallow bit feels very muddy / squishy. Instead, hire a paddle boat (which are very affordable) and then swim in the - it’s deep and great for diving and swimming, and for spotting and ducks. Our one of the favourites places in Crete 💙💙💙 You can rent a catamaran here! It is a very special cute place. The is so so clear you can see and swim with all the fishes, go on the bicycle to see or just lay in the burning sun hahah. It is extremely hot there and there were many people when I was there. Loved this spot to swim also … If you near the you have to Go there ! Very boring, not a lot to do, and not really worth the drive. Beautiful fresh lake, the are sooo cute! I do recommend renting a boat as it’s the best way to get out to the areas where the hangout. Bring goggles and an underwater camera to get the best experience! Total tourist place, I suggest to go early in the morning to avoid all the people and family (I am speaking like young couple😁) The is beautiful and you can also have luck to see some fishes, and ducks. We spent only the hours with the paddle bot and after we go away Beautiful lake, super clear and clean with a wonderful picturesque blue colour. You are able to hire paddle boats, and canoes. Easy way to spend a few hours of your day. I wouldn’t recommend going here if it is far from where you are staying - it is nice but definitely not a must do if your on holiday, however it is a nice to do something different than stay in your hotel all day. Small market shops and restaurants nearby . Top tip- wear swim shoes. The “beach” has several stones when walking in. Also, bring a picnic blanket or small chairs to chill out on. Small shade is available. The relaxing and beautiful landscape is ideal for nature lovers. The is surrounded by a greenery environment with rare plants and trees. Plop yourself on one of the free sunbeds if you prefer to sit back and relax. Very nice water,beautiful colors. Boats ⛵ Beautiful location and had great fun on the pedalos in search of turtles. Saw a few terrapins,a kingfisher and lots of little grebes. Nice souvenir shops on walk back to car park and lots of tavernas around for lunch. Πολύ όμορφο μέρος. Πανέμορφο τοπίο για φωτογραφίες και ηρεμία και ρομαντισμό. Πολύ καλές ταβέρνες με αξιόλογη ποιότητα και τέλος ιδανικό μέρος για παιδιά! Έχει ποδήλατα της θάλασσας και παραλία που μπορουν να παίξουν!
