A beautiful little place to stop for some photos. The old is still standing and you can cross it on foot to se the view of the river. There are a few geese around, as well as a small tavern. Such a beautiful peaceful place. We stopped here and did a 8km round trip hike down to Preveli Gorge and Palm Forest and back again. The is a wonderful piece of old architecture and in February the river running through was strong with mini waterfalls making a wonderful noise as they ran through the channels just on from the bridge. There were only a couple of other people around when we visited. So worth walking around the surrounding area too as the countryside is so beautiful around here. Amazing still standing! Great that you can still cross it the view from the top is beautiful! The beautiful arched of Prevelis is close to the Homonym Monastery and spans the Megas River (which end at the beach of Preveli). It was built in the 18th century by monks of the monastery and its arc has a length of 13.5m, height 7m and width 4.5m. There is a nearby restaurant for refreshments and easy to parc (when the river is not to high). And further down the road there are some very old olive trees. Unexpected place on way to Preveli. Very nice, cold and clean water. with nice view. Taverna and parking. Worth to stop I think this is a must visit. It is easy to park your car there and just walk around. Even in late August it looks wonderful. Nature at is best. A perfect pit stop on your way to Preveli beach and the Palm tree forest. The ancient is not that ancient. It was built by the locals, with the help of a Preveli Monastery in the 19th century. Still, you'll find it on google maps with the name Venetian for it, for no obvious reason. The taverna - restaurant right there is perfect for a coffee or lunch break Really lovely spot to paddle in the river. Lovely old and the restaurant looks lovely too, shady under the trees Beautiful stone bridge, although there is a lot of debris that needs to be cleared out. A must see before heading to Preveli beach. There’s a cafe/bar here if you’re in need a of a quick snack/drink.
