Not one of the best places. The didn’t look as clean. It’s like a public beach. On one side the main port of Rethimno, on the other side too far to walk so I can’t tell you. Personally I wouldn’t go considering there are other beaches not too far which much better. Nice beach, is but don’t expect like Falasarna, due to the renting jet skies and boats the is not crystal clear. You can find almost any sport here for a normal prices. 10 euros the set of 2 sun beds and umbrella, normal price Very average public sandy beach. The is very long and wide, with lots of bars, tavernas, and activities. There are showers, WC, changing cabins and lifeguards. is not too deep so its very convenient for kids. It's very crowded, lots of tourists so you have to come early if you want a good spot. Umbrellas and sunbeds are 7 euros. Arriving on a beautiful early September Monday morning at 11am the was already pretty packed but with about 10% of sunloungers/umbrellas still available. It's obviously not the prettiest you'll ever see but it's and the sea was wonderfully warm but with constant waves, it's perhaps not the most relaxing dip you'll experience! With no signage to the contrary - we sat in a section attached to a hotel where you could order drinks via a QR Code - we were not charged for the sunloungers which were shown as €15 for two. The sea is not the best but the is really big and sandy. Only a 10.minute walk from old town it's an ideal solution if you don't want to use the car. Long and wide, city with plenty of bars lining the seafront. Very nice! Large number of sunbeds are available (Ilios hotel part of the costs 10 EUR for 2 sunbeds) as well as a shower and changing room. There is also a public parking nearby where they charged us 5 EUR for 5 or 6 hours. The is amazing and the very clear. The sand is a little dirty - cigarette ends etc. We sat to the west of the nearest the marina, as it's close to toilets, a shack and also showers etc. This review is about those umbrellas and that shack. The shack is expensive, but convenient. The staff that work behind the bar are incredibly rude, and they pick prices out of thin air. There is one woman in particular who tried to double prices to tourists - I'd honestly avoid this particular place and try further up the beach. Waren im Hotel Creta Palace genau in dem Bereich, aber dort gibt es nur (zum Teil sehr groben) Kieselstrand Pretty average beach, usual facilities, ice cream, shops, bars, restaurants, towel and chair hire. Very busy with tourists so not always the most calming of places. Easy to reach on foot, by car, taxi, public transport. Pleasant enough to pass a day or two on but nothing awe inspiring. The beach, conveniently close to our hotel, was quite nice with standard sun loungers and umbrellas available. However, the first two rows of loungers come with a fee (15 euros per lounger during our stay), something to consider if you prefer being right by the water. Additionally, it's worth noting that the itself has a lot of stones and pebbles, so it might be a good idea to be prepared for that. A slight downside was the public toilet being quite a distance away. On the bright side, there were plenty of trash bins scattered around, which really helped keep the clean, and the short walk from the hotel was definitely a plus. It's a nice and the is and not too cold. Waves are smallish, so not for surfer's. It's and you can rent sunbeds. If the red flag is up don't go in the water. There is space to play volleyball.
