Ok and chips/chicken but too over cooked Wow. Wow. Wow... Best I've had in Ireland. Also very well priced. We called ahead for collection. Was ready quickly. This is a must stop if you are in the North West of Ireland... We've tried the fish, pizza, burgers and loaded chips. Brilliant. Just one thing, if you are not from Ireland, you will be asked if you want salad... take the salad. Otherwise its a patty on a bun... Absolutely georgous food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Top quality service. And the quality of the food is next to none. Highly recommend. One of the best and we have ever had. Proper serving of food in a box with cutlery, salt, vinegar, ketchup, and tissues. (Many takeaways don't bother to provide cutlery or tissues) Fish and are served without salt and vinegar, so you can decide yourself how much of them you want on it. Some fresh salad is really nice with it too. Will definitely come back and hope the quality will be the same!:) This is such a great takeaway, the food is lovely & the staff are very nice too. They have a great variety, everything we've tried has been so nice. The food is very well priced, and portion sizes are great. The & are a favourite ours, the is nice & crispy. We look forward to stopping here every time we're in the area, would highly recommend. Sometimes, it’s the simplest of dishes that are hard to get right… Take that age old takeaway favourite, & Chips, for instance… intentions are usually good but invariably gets served as some insipid tasteless piece of is-it-or-isn’t-it-cod with a mediocre batter on top of a congealed mush of soggy chips. Sound familiar?? Enter AJ’s in Ballyshannon. The (…and they were PROPER chips) were plentiful and that lovely combination of fluffy centred and crispy outside, and perched on top of this potato perfection was a slab of the finest flakiest fishiest feed, swaddled lovingly in a blanket of the tastiest crispiest batter this side of Batterstown! I can’t begin to describe the joy that deep fried can bring, all that it was missing was being wrapped in a sheet of yesterday’s news. AJ’s are definitely doing the way should be done, light and lovely… I’m not codding! Treat yourself to a day off cooking with a takeaway the way takeaways are meant to be taken away. 15/10 for crispy coddiness!! Great and chips. I like seeing the batter being applied to the just before it is fried. Would eat from here every day if I was local. Nicest and I've ever had, on this whole island. So fresh and the batter melts off the fish. Just beautiful, always fresh too, and a must have if you're in the area. Portion sizes are massive too and can be pricey but you definitely get what you pay for in here. They can be busy at times so ring and order ahead if you're able to. We all had burger and they were absolutely fantastic! I would especially recommend the 8oz Travelled to this chipper from Bundoran. 9 minutes drive away. I have to say this is the nicest chipper I think I’ve ever had. Pizza was delicious, not oily like most chipper pizzas. were like oven chips, burgers were lovely and the curry sauce was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend this takeaway. Absolutely incredible place to eat while in Ballyshannon, i would highly recommend. I had a chicken burger which was juicy and succulent and the which tasted fresh and fell apart. was very good. were ok. Pizza was like cardboard and inedible.
