They have just extended the restaurant area, which is great, particularly on busy days. We called in for Sunday lunch, and it was tremendous. Plus, it's very good value for money... you will not leave hungry. Great pint of Guinness also, of course. Very pleasant pub and restaurant. Better than appearances suggest. Excellent food, well presented, perfectly cooked, ample but not overwhelming portions. Good value for money. To be recommended. Can't fault it. Brendan and his wife, very friendly and professional. Everything is great the food is delicious, spacious table, clean and friendly staff but my sister in law is not happy that for 10 people at our table we only have 2 plates of vegetables 🤪 it's our family lunch for a birthday celebration. We attended a wedding here at the weekend in the newly refurbished area and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious. The chunk of beef was the nicest we've had, melt in your mouth! The staff were so attentive and helpful. We are all still talking about how fantastic it was! This pub was recommended to us by the owner of the cottage down the road where we stayed for a few nights. Never thought we might eat the best pizza ever, in a pub in Cashelard. A nice atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices. And deliciously sweet, creamy Murphy's stout on tap! So we went another evening. And we liked it even better. The fish & chips was delicious as was the superb 80 oz beefburger and the sweet desserts. All tables occupied, not for nothing. Excellent service, very good food and Murphy's on tap 😋 Recently came down from Dublin to attend a wedding. Absolute fantastic day. Staff were lovely, went above and beyond for everyone, atmosphere was brilliant, really lovely place. Food was excellent, they made the best vegan curry I've ever had, was full of flavour. Brendan runs a great pub. For anyone looking for a warm atmosphere with cold beer and good cocktails, this is the perfect place. Family run for close to 40 years, this is place that makes everyone feel like family. Sat in here last year with my partner last year, and only thought this be a brilliant wee place for my wedding. Well within the 10 mins we had it booked. We are the 2nd wedding they have held but they had every single thing perfect for us!! Brenden was amazing to us!! The food was amazing. All my guests could not get over the setting and nervous. It was all amazing. I had a small health scare on the lead up and was exhausted when I landed with the decorating. He and the girls took over and it was beautifully done. I hadn't a thing too worry about!!! I cannot praise all the staff and brenden enough!! Heard amazing things from all the locals, went for a communion dinner. Starters took 45 minutes to come out, mains took 1 hour 50 minutes. Got the pasta, bland and overcooked, veg was undercooked. Overstaffed on waiters but clearly no chefs.
