March 26 2023 Brisk but very sunny Cafe open & busy.....very pleasant at 14.00hrs. Very pleasant little village on the banks of Lough Derg, Co. Tipperary. Lovely and clean and tidy. A perfect stopover on a sunny day. Swans and ducks on the waterside and nice walks with a good lot of informative signage telling all about the interesting history of the village. Beautiful place. Very scenic. Not too crowded. Very well maintained! Lovely beach. A great place to visit Great variety of sailing for all abilities Lovely place to enjoy the lake and today there was an abundance of ducks, swans with their almost grown up signets. My border collie especially loves swimming here and it is very safe for dogs and children alike, even on a grey day like today it is very interesting and tranquil. Highly recommend a visit. Very beautiful place,,, Must come here and enjoy,,, Lovely place to spend a day, either picnic with family or just relaxing. Water clear and easy access for kids. On the bad side, toilets are gone, there is construction going on where they used to be so I'm guessing there will be new ones at some point. Still, if u needed toilet when I visited it was a problem, as there was no other toilet amenities in sight. There was ice cream truck parked so nice treats for the kiddos, but no coffee facilities in sight either. In summary, need to come prepared with your own brew. And a toilet it's a must for us so won't be visiting back till it's done.
