Although it can get busy and it seems like more staff would be beneficial. We enjoyed our dinner / lunch, and service was on top, especially catering for the youngest. Close proximity to the lake means woth summer coming up, reservations might be required. One of the main reasons for our trip to Ireland was to experience an authentic Irish pub, and The Whiskey Still delivered above and beyond. From the moment we stepped in, we felt like we were exactly where we were meant to be. Of course, the Guinness was perfectly poured, and the Irish whiskey selection was top-notch, but what truly stole the show was the seafood chowder. No exaggeration, I’ve tasted seafood soups all around the world, from America to the Far East, and only one other had ever stuck in my mind. But this chowder? Creamy, rich, and unbelievably delicious. Every spoonful felt like a gift from the Irish sea gods. I didn’t want it to end… and after I finished, I even avoided drinking water for a while just to let the taste linger a bit longer! The staff were fantastic, friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel like locals, not visitors, and that made the experience all the more special. The atmosphere was exactly what you hope for in a true Irish pub: cozy, lively, full of character, and buzzing with faces. You get the sense that this is where stories are shared, memories are made, and the heart of the village beats. Thank you, Whiskey Still, for a couple of nights to remember all the time in our memories. Five stars without hesitation. Sláinte, mo chara! Lovely pub. We spent 4 days in Dromineer and became regulars here. staff, food and a pint of Guiness. If you can catch the informal live music nights. Had a wonderful evening meal here. Both myself and my husband had the chicken wings to share for starters. For our main meal we had the pork belly which was exceptional, so tender and served with fresh veg. Staff are so friendly, and tend to your every need. I can highly recommend this pub/restaurant Lovely pub in Dromineer village. Open Wednesday-Sunday in the off season and daily in peak season, from 3PM. Good pub grub and pints. The pub is a wonderful local spot. Very people and the proprietor , Joe, is very charming. The service was the best we've had yet, in a week in Ireland. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the halibut special and my wife had the organic chicken. Both well presented and tasted amazing. An absolute must stop for anyone looking for a meal and a lovely pint. A pub experience! If you're looking for a proper Irish pub experience, look no further than The Whiskey Still. We stopped in for some classics—the fish and chips and a pint of Guinness—and everything was fantastic. The food was delicious and the drinks were perfect. The atmosphere was exactly what you want from a local pub, and the staff was and welcoming. We had a time and will definitely be back! I had the Honeysuckle Duckling and to say that it was absolutely amazing would be an understatement and the portions definitely makes up for the price (if you are worried about that)… The service was very nice and friendly! Definitely make a stop here when ur in the area!
