Dūkštų ąžuolyno pažintinis takas

Maišiagala, Lithuania Hiking area

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Quite short trail and sometimes too crowded. But it's nice and cozy too. A mythological pathway near Vilnius. Quite a horrible and lame folklore wood carvings depicting gods and mythological beings, but a really nice and calm place itself. Also has one of a few Lithuanian "rune stones" - though most probably it was just a marking of territory. So, if you want to run away from a city for a short time and walk in an old oak woods - this is a good and serene place. But not on the weekends - on weekends it's swarming in visitors. Oh, and the paths itself is quite short, you'll pass it in less then an hour. I loved education/ information spots that where done creatively. Nice sculptures. It's also nice that it can be walked in a loop. Nice old oak trees But there's a small but... though I understand that it nature and etc but it felt that there was too much hazelnut trees that were blocking enjoyment to admire oak trees and gave a sensation that there's a mess around trail... A truly beautiful and relaxing place; it’s definitely worth its name as a cognitive path. The walkway isn’t very long, around 2-2,5 km long and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities - you won’t have much trouble taking it in a wheelchair or a stroller. It’s a light hike, you won’t break a sweat, but will enjoy many beautiful sights and learn things. The beginning of the path is lined up with wooden sculptures of deities and creatures of Lithuanian pagan mythology. Later on, you’ll bump into Airėnai stone with symbols. The park says that it’s one of their most interesting and yet unsolved secrets. On its side, the stone has a cross and strange inscriptions carved out and the meaning of them still raise many discussions. In the shade of more than 200-year-old oak trees, you’ll see many other species of plants, mushrooms, moss and, if you’re lucky, even animals. At the beginning of the walkway you’ll also find rest stops with tables, benches and grilling zones, where you can enjoy your food. When done with it though, do take away your trash, nature will appreciate it. It’s a place that definitely deserves its popularity. It is not easy to climb all hills. Nice and interesting track. There is a lot of information boards with historical facts Very nice views in early autumn, good 2 hours walk Amazing views! lots of stairs, can be a great cardio :) Good cognitive walkway of Dūkštos oak wood.
