The town is lively on a big match day. The ground is on the edge of the town, so it is easy to get to. Great seating..lovely pitch. Lots of parking with 15 mins in industrial parks. Nice stadium. Pitch v.good. Dreadfull they won't accept cash as payment at the gates. What's even more ridiculous is they won't accept card as payment for match programme. Just shows the state of the gaa as a whole. Great parking and nice little shop there too. I attended the under 20 football final kerry v Tyrone, the staff on the front were excellent we had a blue badge for Disability passenger on board all Disability spaces / car park spaces near the enterence were full so we ended up parking all the way up near the bus parking area . My young son is on oxygen concentrator and has poor mobility so the first where we were parked was for Players and Staff only but under the circumstances that we were parked so far away I approached the Steward on the Asked if we could use this to gain entrance explained our circumstances and was refused point blank shouting at us this is for players only I can't scan tickets here , I asked could you just let my Son in and I would walk down to the other to scan our tickets and was told to "move along " I emailed Laois County board and get a Condescending email in return. Surely to god some common sense can be used on the grounds to accommodate people with Disabilities, but yet again it's one rule for all with no consideration given that people need help in Stadiums our own local stadium Fitzgerald park in killarney go way beyond to accommodate all supporters they even have a lift for wheelchair users and separate Disability parking area , shame laois county board doesn't take a leaf out of of other parks and adjust their policies. Toilets are excellent and so clean and chairs are very clean also so 3 stars for the excellent job there . €15 entry and luke warm tae! The boom is back in Portlaoise.
