Stylish and modern "Lodges" close by nature and located in a quiet corner of a small town just outside both Groningen, and Assen. The lodges have fenerally a high standard and you'll find the neccessities for cooking, but beware the multifunction oven is not quite as effective or functional as a real oven. (So I can't recommend trying to making things like homemade pizza in them) The only immediate improvement suggestion might be a reception with better opening hours, and maybe a small kiosk or vending machines with select goods at the reception. Considering the nearest stores are about 15-20 minutes away by car, having some sort of convenience at the reception would be nice. But besides the scarcity of receptionists, and physical staff to greet you at the park, they should get bonus points for being very available digitally, and having relatively fast reaponse times. Our lodge was very dirty, disgusting floors, trash under the beds. Barbecue space quite trashy and again dirty… You can divide doors and windows for those which you can’t (or almost can’t) open and those which you can’t close. You have to be bold or blind to call it ‚luxurious’. There are not even proper double beds. Never again, this place is not worth the money. Our stay at Park de Zeegser Duinen was nice, but there were some small things that could've made the stay even better! We missed a few practical things, like a nightstand (especially for people wearing glasses) and even though the key system is interesting (the key is an app), there isn't really a fall back system in the event that your phone dies. The rooms were nicely decorated, but it took me a while to fall asleep each night because the panel for the heating system in the room was very bright. Besides this, the surrounding area was very nice, and has some good walking routes. There are also a few good restaurants close by, for that real vacation experience. Beautiful houses, peaceful surroundings, kind and quick service and staff. Only the door openening process could be easier. 😊 We stayed for New Year’s Eve with seven and really enjoyed it. Will definitely come back one day.
