Beautiful place to start off on one of the many signposted walks through the national park. Lengths vary from 3 up to 15km There is quite a large parking area but part of it will be very muddy after rain or in winter. Also nearby is a sheepfold where around 4pm the sheep return from a day out on the heath. The visitor center is a nice place to visit when it's open. Lots of great information about the National Park including an interesting area outside. The staff very kind and knowledgeable. Worth visiting! Excellent, friendly people good biological ice cream they have. Good atmosphere they gave me free coffee because there was too much coffee also free cookies. We bought 2 bird houses wich have thick walls, fine quality. A shop with all souvenirs you can immagine related to a nature reserve, and lots of books, probably all dutch. For the kids there are loads of educational corners, attributes and toys. Outside there is a beekeepers' shed, childrens playground toys and a nice walkway that goes half under water so you can see fish, frogs, tadpoles, snails and what not.
