I rented Gazelle E-bike. Fantastic service fitting bike. Their location has the easiest and beautiful route to get to Green Way! I made it to Mulranny and back. Wonderful ride. Paddy and Nelly's hire are friendly and helpful. Being the off season their shop had the shutters down and no signage saying they are open for business, but I called the number off the website in the hopes that they could assist. The call was answered within 3 rings, and Paddy came down to open up specially for me. He took the time to explain the various cycling routes and how to get the most out of the experience. He adjusted the seat height to suit me. The bicycle was well maintained, and the gears and brakes functioned flawlessly. I can not recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Paddy. Thanks to Paul, our long-planned tour of the gorgeous County Mayo countryside was a great experience. When high winds, with gusts of up to 50 MPH, threatened our plans, Paul was kind enough to contact us and propose a modified route in the other direction. With the help of the wind at our backs, we cycled from Mulranny to Westport, and then made some excursions in the Westport area to add to the fun. Paul even equipped us (party of three) with rain ponchos, explaining that “you may look like Mary Poppins but you’ll be dry.” We only had to put the ponchos on for a few short cloudbursts, but they made all the difference. He recommended a terrific lunch spot in Newport, and made accommodations for us to return the while he was making another shuttle delivery. We will certainly “hire” the same from the same fine establishment next time we have the privilege of being in this beautiful country. PC from Pennsylvania This was such a great experience! My husband, friend and I rented ebikes and went from Westport to Achill. The owner was friendly, made sure we had that were comfortable, and explained the route in detail. We had such a good time and the path was beautiful. Not to mention it was fun to stop for lunch and grab a Guinness along the way. My husband’s chain did break part way through our trip, but the owner was incredibly helpful and he helped get us a new in no time. I would do this again and recommended it to anyone in town. We had a stag weekend in Westport and we wanted to do something different from the usual activities. We book Paddy&Nelly and it was fantastic. We cycled from the shop out along the quays with our final destination to be Campbells at the creek. Few stops in between to hydrate might also have been taken🤣. Wonderful scenic route all on a designated cycle path. Fantastic level of service from Paul and his team also, with them having a shuttle service to drive you back should you wish. Myself and my sister hired 2 e-bikes to cycle the greenway from Westport to Achill Island while on a mini break to Westport We hired the e-bikes from paddy&nelly in Westport on Tuesday 19th August Neither of us had used e-bikes before and actually I have only cycled a few times in recent years. We received great advice at paddy&nelly about the most suitable for both of us and we were sent on a short test cycle to ensure we were happy and confident with the bikes. We then set off on our trip of just over 40km to our destination. We thoroughly enjoyed our day along the greenway with beautiful views at every turn in the road We had a stop at a nice hotel along the way where we had our lunch while sitting outdoors enjoying the view of the lovely Beach below We reached our destination at Achill island where we locked up our bicycles to await their collection later by p&n bikes, we made our way to the bus stop having enjoyed a refreshing cold beer but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the public transport bus arrived about 30 minutes late only to breakdown after about 20 minutes into the journey back to Westport Luckily the bus driver was able to make it to a pub where we could disembark and use the facilities while awaiting a replacement bus which we were advised would take at least 1 hour to get to us We were luckily to receive an offer of a lift back to Westport by a family who had made a stop at the same pub We would both recommend anyone planning a visit to Westport to include a cycle on the greenway from Westport to Achill and get the public bus back to Westport, I’m sure the breakdown was a once off unfortunate incident I would certainly recommend to use paddy&nelly where you will get expert advise from Paul the owner We had a great experience with Paddy and Nelly hire. The weather did not cooperate for us on the day we booked and Paul did not hesitate to offer us an alternate option. His flexibility with our reservation allowed us to be able to explore the great western greenway as planned albeit a day later than we planned. He also went out of his way to accommodate our need to be back in westport earlier than the pick up buses allowed by picking us up in Malranny.
