Sept 13, 2024. First time here. We sat outside a we had a dig with us. Staff were prompt and friendly. I had the whole nine yards burger and it was great. They accommodated my request for fried onions instead of raw, which a lot of places won't do. Prices were a touch on the high side but very tasty food. Fantastic chowder! Some of the best I've had. (And I have tried chowder in a LOT of restaurants.) Very nice staff. Excellent service. Lovely setting. Super nice spot & the food is lovely. My husband had cod & chips & said it was lovely. I had the beef burger & fries & salad. Delicious. Fast service. They have loads of choices, desserts, coffees etc. They had Erdringer alcohol free German beer...its 1 of the best alcohol free beers. Great food and nice, congenial atmosphere! We stopped by for a quick bite and both the soup of the day and the salmon on bread were fantastic! I was amazed by the amount of salmon served! Wonderful place! A lovely restaurant : the food is very good, the prices are fair, and the two waitresses are very kind and attentive ! We came back twice ! Just a word of advice, I tried the profiteroles... but they weren't very good. It's better to have fewer and simpler desserts that are home-made and taste good. But apart from that, the restaurant is very ! A great restaurant and pub. Menus prepared with love and incredibly helpful staff. Thanks, Daniel. The staff are lovely. The pints are good. The atmosphere and banter with the locals was spot on. The food was okay but a little overpriced and the quality & portions could be improved on. I had the mussels, potato skins and chicken wings. All except that the 1 potato skin I received was a poor size portion for the price. My wife had the chicken curry but the flavour was seriously lacking and it was "McDonnell's" curry sauce out of a packet. Any chef worth their salt should be whipping up a batch curry from scratch. If they can't do that, they shouldn't be in the kitchen. Get rid! I was happy enough but not full so unfortunately it was not value for money.
