Very welcoming. The first six holes are very typical parkland layout, many trees but not too dense, a little bit up and down. Holes 7 through to a very strong 18th finish are very much more interesting, and given the wonderful views of clew bay from 12 through to 16, DEFINATELY a course worth visiting ( or a revisit in my case)Course was in really good condition, the rough although not long, was pretty thick and took a good shot to get out of, very friendly welcome. Locker room was a little dated but perfectly functional. Nice parkland course in very good condition. Very warm welcome from the staff. Enjoyed the game. Docked one star because of the price. €60 is too expensive in my opinion. Good course. Back nine is very picturesque and hugs westport bay. Plenty of variety on this course and some holes not for the faint hearted off the tee especially the 15th where a strong tee shot is needed to traverse the estuary.. Very enjoyable. Go here in the late afternoon when it's quiet.. go on your own to savour the full experience of the sound of the sea and seagulls and the seabreeze. 14th has Croagh Patrick as its backdrop and is challenging enough par 3. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff in the pro shop. It's not a bad course. Long par, 73 tricky in the heat! New balls needed in range. Along the drain, I think the 10th, it would make more sense to move the obstruction markers to the inside of the drain on the range side, as it would be possible to play out when dry. Beautiful golf course and club rentals are convenient for travelers. Paul was extremely welcoming and helpful!
